Attention All Forest Walkers - Be CAREFUL out there
Folks,
In case any of you have missed it, Yosemite and the forests around Auburn in the foothills have been on fire for weeks. The Yosemite Rimfire has been traced to a hunter setting an illegal campfire and then letting it get out of control. He hasn't been arrested yet, but certainly should be. Here's a link on this: http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2013/...set-by-hunter/ So BE CAREFUL out there when you're hunting. Don't make fires until after the rain starts and try not to get shot yourselves. I know the fires are part of nature's plan to renew the forests. But I take a very personal interest in this. I landed in the emergency room twice in the last two weeks for massive asthma attacks, because of smoke from the fires. So have fun, but be careful out there....

From what I understand, the only hunting that's in season right now is bow hunting for deer, so this shouldn't be laid off on firearms hunters.

I don't see how the guy being a hunter has anything to do with the fire. The person likely has two legs, two eyes, 10 toes, 10 fingers, etc., a drivers license, a Coleman cooler in the truck, etc. and none of those irrelevant facts are being made a big deal of. So why make such a big deal of of him being a hunter?
If the guy had a fire in a fire restricted area and it got away from him, then the story should be the guy was an idiot out in the woods. His IQ and outdoor attitude should be the focus of the story. But oh the fun the press has snipping at hunters and sportsmen and sportswomen. Rant over. Thanks for listening. |

Wouldn't it be more logical to simply tell anyone camping in the forest to simply be careful when making a campfire? Why just hunters?
Its not like the fire was started because of hunting. Especially since the only season open at the time was bow season for deer. Hunting/hunters in this case was not the criteria for a wildfire. It was camping skills if indeed the liberal media is correct and this person actually was the cause of the fire. The investigators still don't have actual proof that the accused actually started this fire. Lets keep that facts in order here before blaming hunters in general. |

Not my fault. The authorities identified the fire-setter as a hunter, not me.
And again, let's ALL be careful out there.
