Alright I am sure there are plenty of threads out there other than this one that have asked the question, but I am going to ask anyway.

Other than an AR15 or AK47 what semi automatic rifle would you prefer/have/or want in California?

For the record I am kind of leaning towards a HK USC. Looks like a fun rifle.

For the low down on why…

My father is getting a bit old for a 12 Gauge... didn't even like my Benelli M4... and I thought it was relatively light recoil.
Doesn’t want rifle calibers – absolutely NOT (OK get that one since neighbors are close).
He liked my 357 Lever Action but was thinking a Semi since he want something that can easily mount light and laser (ding ding my big issue… Shouldn’t have put a Crimson trace laser on his revolver) and want to not want to worry about cycling. He thinks 10 rounds would be more than enough (not expecting major gun battles).

So looking into pistol cartridge and he just isn’t flying with H&K USC 45… (I don’t get it either).
He really likes CX4 and 1 butt stock spacer make CA’s overall length.
But need a bullet button… and he doesn’t want to fill stock.
He also feels 9mm AR15 to radical. No to UZI clones… etc
Although wants 9mm… not really Marlin Camp 9 or Ruger PC9 (since not new)
No KelTec or Hi-Point (just too cheap for him).

SO I NEED A CX4 BULLET BUTTON.
And it is probably very challenging to make.

Yes he is very taxing… but I love him anyways.
