help needed identifying old .22 bolt

found it in the drawer in the garage, figure its at least 20+ years old

any ideas what its from, cleaned it up a bit with some light wire wheeling, to get the surface rust off

this isnt off a rifle that i have owned in the past, i found it in a drawer in the garage at my grandparents. they have lived in the same location for 40 years.

Yup. As several have said, there are several models that used that bolt. 510/511/512. Alot more than 20 years old, more like 50-70.

My Rem 512X has that bolt, it was a Christmas present in 1964.

Beehive bolt is definately a good name for it. just took my dremel and polishing wheel and cleaned it up more. looks pretty good now, and the extractors arent siezed in place like i expected.

also rem 511's , its a rem 5xx series bolt looks like the red paint is worn off the back of the firing pin....

I believe the 514 is different. So it will work on the 510 single shot, 511 mag fed, and 512 tubular mag and 521T.

Got it for free from a buddy! He's a GC, bought a house to remodel and flip. The house was a conditional sale wherein he had to dispose of all the property in the house as the owner had been conserved and put in a home. The 521 was under the house and rusty. He tracked down the family and offered it to them, they didn't want it. My friend only likes AR's and Glocks, offered me "a free shi$%y rusty .22 if you come get it." I told him it was a great gun, he was adamant I should take it. It cleaned up decent and is the best shooting .22 I own.

I am debating throwing this thing on the market here and or ebay. In your guy's opinion should I clean it up as much as i can with it staying together, or disassemble it and fully clean it? keeping in mind, this thing was pretty solidly coated in a light layer of rust when i found it. I have soaked it in hoppes for a few days, as well as used a polishing wheel on my dremel to get most of the rust off so far.

Bolt has been disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, and is verified working and complete. the firing pin plunger took a hearty whack with a mallet to free up, that thing was super gummed up.

Remington 510, 511 and 512 ... don't have a 513 so ????

I have a 513S, the bolt is the same.

Edit to add: Slightly different then mine in how the bolt handle is bent...mine is straight down, that one looks like it's bent at an angle. Probably originally from a 512 IMO.
