I had my first two classes with Stan (TASC) yesterday with Carbine 202 & Pistol 202 (half day each). Covered the safety brief. We went through the structured shooting strong side, transition to support side (one-handed) with turns at various ranges 3-15 yards (for the Carbine we shot a lot from 50 yards). Went over and shot various covered positions (kneeling, double-kneeling, prone, urban prone), moving and shooting diagonally, etc. Did various team drills with moving, kneeling, communication, etc. All great. He then opened it up for further repetitions and other drills (shooting a lot of pistol from 50 yards, 25 yards, 15, 20...). A great way to spend a Sunday. Even made it back in time for second half of the Super Bowl. Looking forward to Combined Arms & Tactics 303 in three weeks.

Stan,

When you do the mixed classes (like pistol/carbine) on the same day, do you mix it up if everyone is there for both? Or do you keep them relatively separate?

I'm looking at trying to do your Pistol/Carbine 101/102 in March (10-11, I think it is) and was curious. I'm just hoping I don't have to all of a sudden work a drill weekend.

See you tomorrow Stan. My friends and I are very excited for your Pistol 101 course. And it looks like we are going to have perfect weather for it too.

The short answer is relatively seperate, there are some cross over of materials of course as the fundamentals of marksmanship are mostly transferrable.

If there are some concerns please let me know.

I completed Pistol 101 & 202 Today and I couldn't be happier with the classes! I had a great time as well as learning a lot. It seemed like the curriculum progressed at a good pace... not too fast and didn't dwell on any particular topic too long.

Makes sense. No concerns. If there's still spots open and I don't have to work that weekend, I'm planning on reserving a spot.

Thanks for the reply.

best thing about taking classes is to see if your gear will really survive. my AR ran beautifully without hiccups, and now I have a better appreciation of it.

My gear was bulky, so now I'm trying a vest to disperse some of the things I have to carry. If I didn't take Stan's class I would never have known.

My shotgun functioned flawlessly....minus all the mall ninja stuff I put on. Loctite is my new friend.

+1. All my stuff worked great in the garage, but I had to get rid of most of it once I ran them in Stan's class.

You have to run your gun and gear to know what works. Standing behind a line at a range won't do it.

Great feedback from many...looking forward to training with Stan soon.

Unfamiliar with Prado, is there any range fee? Didn't notice this info on the website.

Thanks!

Range fee is included in the cost of Stan's classes.

I think it's usually $20 to shoot there, which makes the $75 for a class that much more of a bargain.

Hi Stan. When will you be posting your March schedule? Can't make any of your classes this month. Thanks

Will you be offering low light/night courses at Prado in March?

Okay, I lied, Stan. I guess I do have a question.

On your Carbine 101/202 description, you say "400 rounds" for each course. Does that mean if you do 101 and 202 back-to-back, you need 800 rounds?

Same question for Pistol (300 + 300). It's not a big deal if you do require this, but just want to make sure I bring enough of the right kind of ammo.

Working on the low light at field time, need to coordinate with them.
And let me get back to you about RC 202 during the week, but most likely.

The answer is yes, 400 for RC 101 and another 400 for RC 202. Mind you we usually fall just below each time but thats OK for remediation etc.

Haven't seen you post March schedule yet but any chance for Carbine 202 in the morning of March 2 at Prado?

Is the calendar that is posted on your website that details the month of March and part of April correct?

I do not see a listing for 'Pistol Skill Builder Workshop' on your site or in the first post of this thread. Could you list what the Itinerary and recommended gear is for the workshop?

Forthcoming but it will be the same as the Pistol 101; all necessary equipment and protective equipment to safely train with your pistol. 200 rounds of pistol ammunition.

Thanks for some great classes and training last week. Great instructor imo. Skilled, knowledgable, willing to assist in any way possible. Well done.

Will look forward to learning and skill building with Stan at Prado again.
