Default Clinic

Yes! The Clinic is on for tomorrow. Start time is 8:30AM.
CMP Master Instructor Dennis Santiago says he is expecting a great turnout.
I also hear that several seasoned match competitors (including "Carbine Ralph" Maggio) will be there helping Dennis to coach new shooters.

Good question!
Bring your AR.
Almost any safe and legal rifle is ok....subject to the call of the range safety officer.
"The BRRC M-1 and AR-15 Clinic is an introduction to "known distance" rifle competition that will prepare you to participate in the Civilian Marksmanship Program's As-Issued Games matches as well as NRA Across-the-Course (XTC) matches."
I believe that if your own rifle or carbine is consistent with the spirit of the clinic, it would be fine to bring and to shoot. That said, I would encourage you to think in terms of the following...

As-Issued M-1 Garand
U.S, M1903/A3 Springfield
Vintage Military Rifle
U.S. M-1 Carbine
Accurized M-1 Garand
Modern Military Rifle
For instance, Steyr AUG's, Sig 556's, H&K 91's as well as stock AR-15 and M-4 Carbine clones would compete as Modern Military Rifles. Accurized Service Rifles (M-14/M1A and M-16/AR-15) and NRA/ISU Match Rifles are not elibible to compete. Shooters firing ineligible rifles can qualify for clinic completion certificates but will otherwise be firing for practice only.
Also there will most likely be range time after the clinic.

Thanks for the great instruction today. My friend and I learned the basics of operating an M1 and we will be back to shoot next month.

Archon, You're now set to shoot in 200yrd. CMP GSM matches! BRRC's next GSM is 4/17 at 8:30AM. Let Dennis or Wayne know in advance if you'd like to use a club rifle. Look forward to seeing you there!

Yes I've already put it on my calendar. Looking forward to honing my skills and eventually shooting my own M1.
