Default Savage Mark II bolt, Thoughts?

I am looking at getting a Savage Mark II bolt action 22. Want to shoot
CCI Quiets (710 FPS), CCI Stingers (1640 FPS) and everything in between.
On some rifles, Stingers are not recommended because of the longer case.
I read the instruction manual on-line for Mark II, but there was no mention of restrictions. Anybody have real world experience with this rifle?

i have shot stingers and shorts out of my MKII with no issues.

POI is the only thing that changes.

I bought a Crickett for urban pest control and shoot .22 short quiet rounds. Sounds a little louder than my pellet gun. I wouldn't mind a Mark II BV though..

I have one they shoot great and will handle any long rifle 22 ammo you want to feed it, mine likes the old Federal Gold Medal target stuff only have a couple of bricks left.

Yup... They'll shoot. Just make sure you run a snake/patchworm or a chamber brush in it before switching from shorts/CBs/quiets to full length rounds. Mine has a bit of a finicky chamber and will cause extraction failures 90% if you don't clean after using the short cases.

Also, if you want to feed the CB caps out of the magazine -- a full size 22lr round at the bottom of the mag helps them feed correctly. You can use a plastic dummy round if you don't want the possibility of a full power round going through.

I love mine. I am working on 300 yard shooting now. 100 and 200 yard are very easy, too easy in fact. my daughter was scoring hits on a tennis ball within 3 minutes. talking 5/5 hits.

Very nice, what scope are you using on that setup?

One problem with the fiber stock is the comb is to low, both my MK II & my 93R17-FV I've added a riser and that made a world of difference.

i have a MKII F and had issues with the trigger not resetting. it kept getting locked for some reason. had to toggle the safety button in order to reset the accutrigger.

it worked itself out and now works fine. maybe i had to just break it in

Default my savage mkii

shoots everything but the 'hyper-velocity' stuff wasn't accurate at all.
veloco-raptor or something like that.
the remington GB almost everybody rags on shoots about .75" at 100yds (tall - wind moved stuff around 2" left to right for a 4" spread)

You gun might very so try it all.
