Default Mosin Prices

Not to many years ago a lot of people trashed 91-30s as worthless. Well looking at prices on them i would say the price gap has closed. Wish i bought a few crates 10 years ago.
a 440 can of 7.62 54r has more than doubled.

So does that mean the so called member "Expertish" is going to start another Mosin-Nagant group buy soon?

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ight=expertish

I got in on the ground floor way back when Mosin-Nagant 91/30s and model M-44 carbines were under $100 dollars each/ closer to $50 dollars before tax and DROS, and 7.62X54R ammo in mil-surplus spam cans was under 10 cents per round.

Needless to say, I do enjoy my Mosin-Nagant rifles and bought enough of them back in the day to hand one out to each of my extended family members along with lots of ammunition for them to use and enjoy!

Im glad I picked up a few when they were less than $100

the Mosin Nagant is the only surplus bolt action that I have been able to use for over 30 years, I picked the right caliber surplus rifle, ammo still easily available , surplus or current production

try that with a French rifle in 7.5 French , a German Mauser 8mm, Enfield in .303 British, the surplus / ammo availability dried up years ago for those obsolete calibers.

I still enjoy shooting the ones I have, and I just bought a Finn M91 recently. But it blows my mind that refurbished round receiver M91/30's go for about $350. I guess the upside of that is, more rifles and ammo will continue to be imported. The Mosin Nagant is still a pretty good milsurp gateway gun.

Mosin’s, Russian Capture K98, Arisaka’s even MAS36 in mummy wrap were real buys a few years ago. You can’t even find a MAS36 these days. CMP M1 Garands were $400-450 for SG. Rashids, Hakims, Enfields, SVT’s, FN49’s we’re flooding the market.

Aah the Good Old Days
