lol, am I being punked? the tree leans forward (you cant really tell in this picture) so the plates always come to rest in the forward position and to help direct the spent rounds downward. that is why the legs are longer in the front. the bronze bearings on the hinge are smooth and self lubricating enough that I dont need to use springs or detent pins to make it work right. this means fewer moving parts and fewer things to break.

OK! So I gotta give it to Big John's. Ordered on the 22nd, at my home on the 24th. Looks great. Ready for painting. On the other hand I didn't get the mounting hardware. No big deal, I can pick some up. Big John, what are the size bolts and nut for the individual plates? What size bolts for the mounting stand? Otherwise, great product. Looking to get more now.

For the plates they are 3/4-10x3" with a nylock nut. For the base looks to be 3/8 not sure on the thread but they look coarse to me. I'm painting my tree and hostage target today as well!!!

my apologies to the two customers (you know who you are ) who recieved their trees without all of the hardware, I hired some help and he is still learning. the base screws are 3/8 -16 x 1" and the mounting bolts are 3/4-10 x3"

Ok I received my dueling tree. It was easy to assemble and is very high quality. Painted it with a couple of coats of Rustoleum took to the range it works just like it should! Everyone that saw it was impressed. It took longer than I thought it would to receive the tree but it was worth the wait!! I ordered a target stand and it shipped the same day.
