Default Speakeasy check: Ugh!

I ran a couple checks the last 2 days and I am only getting anywhere between 1-1.5mbps either up or downloading.

We have U-Verse "Max" package so we should be getting up to 12mbps. Any ideas or suggestions? I've run several scans and haven't really found anything.

i don't like speakeasy. i dunno why, it's always way lower than what others show.

i use speedtest.net. i use the San Jose or Palo Alto locations. SF location always seems slow like speakeasy. iirc, there is a speedtest location in modesto for you (or it might be comcast).

i use speedtest.net to keep speedtest.comcast.net honest.

the further the location, chances are the slower. i used to test against some north west, midwest, east coast locations. doesn't really tell me anything but an idea how slow it gets since i vpn to work sometimes and it's in TX.

these are also not the final word. it's just the speeds you can get from those servers. a content provider might throttle down how fast they want to serve you the content.

Try another computer before you jump the gun.

Also if your using a wireless router bypass it and plug directly into the modem. You may have to restart the modem to get a connection and again reset when you plug t. Router back in.

After these steps are performed report back.
