Yes I have tracking. I see it leaving the facility where I mailed it (the UPS store), going to a sorting facility, went out in transit and then it disappeared into the Bermuda triangle (or California version) as it has not appeared back into the system again. Hope the driver didn't detour down for the Tijuana donkey show and got hijacked down in Mexico!

Suppose to have word on the investigation tomorrow about what happened. I'm going to have to call the AZ DPS and let them know I guess if it doesn't show up also.

Update: Took a month, and I'm GTG!

Timeline:
Sat - 10/9: Email request for app
Wed - 10/12: Email reply stating app would be mailed.
Thurs - 10/20: Received app in mail.
Mon - 10/24: Dropped app off at post office.
Mon - 11/21: AZ CCW in hand (valid as of 11/18, and good for 5 years)

Kudos to the AZ DPS. They sure do have their act together!

Received mine today as well. Same time periods as above. My last name was spelled incorrectly so I called ADPS and a corrected one is already in the mail.

Submitted my application via USPS on 10/6.
Sent email query on 11/17 and was advised
FBI rejected print cards and were doing a
"name search" which could take 30 to 45 days.

Maybe by Christmas.

I sent my packet in and waited. After reading this thread, and having waited awhile, I checked the date on my money order receipt and saw it had only been just over four weeks. I resigned myself to waiting at least a couple more weeks. Five minutes later (I kid you not) I stopped at my mailbox on the way home and there it was! Just over four weeks.

Damn I keep forgetting about this. I just sent a request for 2 applications. One for myself, and one for the misses. Does anyone know if they will mail two, or if I have to do two separate request? I probably won't get it mailed out for a few weeks, once I do get it.

ETA: Has anyone had success with their Hunters Safety Certificate as successful firearms training, or do I need the NRA cert?

Make your request online. I'm sure there is no problem with them sending two packets. Mine arrived within two days.

Sent my email request on 10/21, received email acknowledgement 11/02, application package post marked 11/16, received 11/20. Now it's up to me to get it completed and in. Just need to get my finger prints done and off it goes. Expect it back some time around end of January 2012.

Does this in any way help us in California or is it just for bragging rights and traveling?

(Just wondering why so many Californians are getting this).

Would a BSIS permit to carry as an armed Private security be sufficient to qualify?

Does nothing for you in Ca., but is a great supplement for CA CCW since it allows you to carry in 30+ additional states. I got mine so I can carry in NV, and allows more options in AZ (like carrying in Bars...but not drinking).

It's super easy to "qualify", and I'm pretty sure any guard card training would fulfill the AZ training requirement.

I think I goofed up with my AZ permit - I sent a personal check with my application. I read the requirements on AZ's page and it states the following:

4.Using the return envelope provided, send the completed application, adequate documentation which demonstrates firearms safety competence, two complete sets of fingerprints, the appropriate fee in the form of a money order, cashier's or certified check; payable to the AZ DPS to the CWPU. For a current list of fees click here. Fees are non-refundable.

Is my personal check good to go or am I SOL?

They will send it back with a note telling you to resubmit. I did the same thing. I realized my mistake right after I mailed it, emailed them immediately and asked if they could hold it while I send them a money order. They politely said no, that they would send it back, which they did and I resubmitted it. Got my AZ permit just over four weeks later.

Aw shucks! Oh well, I'm currently in Georgia for the next year so I do not mind waiting. Georgia allows service members to be exempt from a CCW (they call it GWL - Georgia Weapons Lic.) and able to carry.

I love the South

Wow, 30+ States. That is worthwhile since I frequently travel to Texas and Washington (State) and Georgia.

I'm just guessing that all three of those are carry friendly States although Washington State is kinda iffy.

they must be making some good money with all the apps they are getting no wonder other states are doing better then cali. it sounds like az is getting them done in 2 weeks but usps is taking a week each way so it ends up being 4 weeks.

I made two requests, one showed up two days after I called and the other came 2 weeks later, which was 4 weeks in total from the time I sent the email request. Still don't know which request was the one that showed up so soon after the phone call.

From having to talk to them because I still don't know if my application even made it to them, it really sounds like they are backed up with a lot of requests at the moment. Per the gal I spoke to they won't even enter the application into the system till 4 weeks have passed from receipt. So be prepared to wait some more after you get the app.

received my license on 12/1. Less than two months total, even with the fingerprint glitch.
Not too bad.
love the credit card format they use. So much nicer than the Ca one.

FYI, some counties in CA issue a nice credit card format as well. (such as San Bernardino) It's even got a photo and fingerprint on it.

Unfortunately Washington state does not honor the AZ permit.

http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_ca...city_maps.html

However, I have heard that WA is an easy permit to get for non-residents.

Add a Florida and your total goes to 38 states! If you have a CA permit.

Interesting, because the last time I looked at the Penal Code, it states all permits are to be uniform. But then again, it's quite some time since I looked at a Penal Code Book.

But a Florida will give you Washington state.

Your training certificate or DD 214 for Vets, print card, Passport Photo with fees will net you a Florida, via mail!

I got mine in 8 days. Course, that was before the whole NV thing started. Another reason it's probably taking so long is them having to deal with so many screwed up apps by people unable to follow simple directions...

It's cool seeing people still getting it done.

Just curious what has taken many so long to get something that seemed to good to be true?

I went first with Florida since it got me the most bang for the buck. Needed one for the bike trip I made this past summer to North Carolina and points beyond.

When I saw Arizona was going to be recognized by Nevada, that was a no brain-er since Florida was not recognized by Nevada.

Plenty folks on the board cried foul who had gone and got the non-resident Nevada permit and thought the Arizona agreement would only happen when
