Default If you're ever in Morro Bay...

Sabetta's Pizza & Pasta
897 Main St
Morro Bay, CA 93442-2117
(805) 772-0200

Some buddies and I went here. I think she's the owner, but she lost her son in (I think) Najaf when he was with 1st Cav.

The food was AMAZING and she was very nice.
She guessed we were all in the Army (Granted, it's not hard to figure out that 7 clean cut males looking to be under 30 and somewhat close to Camp SLO are probably in the Army) and I saw he sons picture and read the small plaque on the wall. She told us about her son, thanked us for our service and we all had a great time.

I'm making it a point to go there any and every time I'm in Camp SLO or Camp Roberts.
I highly recommend you give that place a try.

I'm in Morro pretty often. Will stop there to eat and thank her for her son's sacrifice.

If any Calgunner is ever in Morro Bay, let me know, I'll buy you a beer! If you're a Vet, I'll buy you 2!

Don't forget about Margie's Diner! They don't use plates. They use platters! The Chef's salad comes in a punch bowl!

Went to school there, at CP SLO. Lived in Los Osos on 4th St. Didn't get a chance to eat at Sabetta's but the area was great.

Thanks for the heads up!

The state's Officer Candidate School is run out of Camp SLO.....part of our "proving" in order to be accepted as an Officer Candidate was to sit chest-deep in the frigid April waters of Morro Bay at 0800 in summer PT gear, facing the beach, and then lean back into the waves on the instructors command. NOT good memories!

That aside, SLO is a really neat town and Camp SLO is a great post. As stated above, you should also check out Margie's Diner at least once.

I was just in Morro Bay with my brother this summer, good times.

We were sent to Sabetta's by a local barkeep, and afterwards we were at a bar diagonally across the street. (Also a good joint, with pool tables, microbrews and such.)

Funny... talked to a gun nut at the bar for hours. One of y'all? Drove a big bulldozer for Fire/Civil...

Two other reco's in that 'hood. New this season the Niner Wine Estates (Insane wines and architecture, http://www.ninerwine.com/ ), and Firestone's brewery at 101.

Us revolver shooters invade Morro bay every year in early June for the IRC at the local Hogue range on Highway 1.. of course the tourist and graduation season is also in full effect.. we found a little cottage in nearby los osos this year.. likely go back there next year..
