Default Mosin-Nagant Picture Thread

I thought it was time we had a thread dedicated to these ugly rifles.

My M44:

Bought it from another member here. I'll have to take some new pictures of my 91/30.

What do you all have?

Some Finns:

My Frakenmosin, assembled from parts. Ishevsk barrel, Polish low wall receiver, and a parts mix of every single arsenal:

This is my Bubba job, and the link below will take you to the confessional:

Confessional thread:

http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/vie...lit=I+am+Bubba

for those of you who don't go to the confessional thread, I made it out of a cut down barreled receiver I got for I think 5 bucks at a gun show in Chico. It is one of those projects where you spend $200 to get a $100 rifle you can sell for $80. Doesn't get much better. :-)

Nice scout Jaiofspam! If you don't mind, what is the mount and scope you have on there? And how is it holding up for you? Thanks.

Beautiful Mosins guys... Will need to take pics of mine soon.

thanks, its a b-square mount i got from midway... i purchased it before i found out about darrels scout mounts (which are highly recommended) but its holding up very well with the assistance of blue loctite. ive shot about 100rds with it on and it hasnt worked loose contrary to some negative reviews received

as for the scope its a ncstar 2-7x32 LER... for something that cost $35 its holding up very very very well to the recoil of the mosin while still holding zero

Awesome, thanks Jaiofspam! I have read some negative reviews regarding the side-mounted brass screws configuration of Darrel's scount mounts so I was thinking about giving S&K and/or B-Square mounts a try...

Thanks again for the review.

ive heard many good things about the s&k mount also...
you could always give the cheapy ncstar mounts found all over the web a try for about $10... my buddy uses this config and its holding up fine. my only gripe with the ncstar mount is that the hex screws strip easily

My all matching Izhevsk '44 M91/59.

This is in great shape and the bore is perfect, since these didn't see much use. Great rifle.

Is there a word that means the opposite of "synergy"? If not, then "sporterizedmosin" might be a good candidate.

The middle M44 and the bottom M91/30 are laminated stocked, the top M38 is hard wood.

Not much you can do to refinish a laminated stock other than clean off cosmoline and shellac (if used) then either reapply shellac or oil. The hard wood is easier to sand down, stain and oil because you don't have epoxy to deal with.

Shoots sub-moa on a cold barrel with surplus Hungarian if I do my part. Groups open to 2 on a warmer barrel.

I love this thing.

Also have a bastardization of a 91/30 cut down to carbine length (i didn't do it, bought it as a parts gun for next to nothing.... the receiver is hex and 1937 production... such a waste )
