Default OK to remove bullet button after installing locked magazine?

I opted to go with a locked magazine (CompMag) for one of my rifles. I know you can remove the BB if you go featureless, does that apply to rifles with locked mags installed as well?

Yes. That’s the whole reason for the bullet button. It’s to removed the mag with the use of a tool. Now that the mag is fixed and cannot be removed without separating the action your good to go and just use a standard mag release.

This new law made the bb illegal. So, featurless is the best option.

That's what I thought but wanted to double check, thanks!

Yeah, when that time comes I'll go featureless (already had to go featureless for AK and SCAR) but want to enjoy the adjustable stock and pistol grip for a bit longer while I can.

Yes. If your mag is locked. Meaning u have to separate your upper from your lower to reload, than u can have the pistol grip and adjustable stock.
No locked mag, than pistol grip wrap, fixed stock or go with one of these.
I held one of these at a local gun store. It's definitely more comfortable than a grip wrap. And the ergo is good. But it's so Fugly and does not look like an AR rifle how it should look.
But if I can get a good deal, I might get one.

The BB is not illegal. It simply became no longer a way to comply with the new law. They are not contraband. You can legally put them on your featureless or fixed-mag rifles if you want to (though, it would be silly to).

Fixed mag is a perfectly valid solution, as is featureless. Neither is better than the other (as far as legality/compliance is concerned). As far as functionality is concerned, which type of compliance is "best" is entirely subjective , it depends on how you want it to look, feel, function, etc. As with most things in life, what works best for one person, won't for another.

Don't panic. As of 11/21/2018, only around 40% of BBRAW applicants have received their letter. DOJ is still actively processing them... slowly. In the meantime:

If you are featureless, I'd think you could have any type of 10 round mag, fixed, detachable?

Well there are so many types of 10rd mags. Different brands yes.
If u go featurless, than u the butt stock needs to be fixed and u can have a regular mag release.
If u go with fixed mag, than u can have the pistol grip and adjustable stock.
