Default How to legally aquire MP9 2.0 Compact blocked magazines

Hi Cal Gunners. I'm in need of some advice. In a few days I will come into possession of a M&P 9 2.0 Compact. To my understanding, SW does not make 10rnd magazines yet so I'd have to have the standard capacity magazines blocked to 10. I've asked a bunch of shops if I could purchase the magazines online and have them shipped directly to their store to have blocked or if they could buy them and block them for me and I'd pay for everything. All of them have said that they can no longer do that.
What are my options? Besides buying full size magazines and putting on the grip sleeve :P
Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure uses the same mags as the original M&P 9c

You can order the 10 rd. mags from S&W, Ebay, Greg Cote, Midway, Brownells, etc....

Currently, S&W does not sell spare M&P 2.0 Compact magazines to non-FFLs.

They are pre-order items.

So, you will need to wait, until production catches up with demand.

In the meantime, you can contact a third party vendor and inquire with them on the likelihood of them offering permanently modified 10 round M&P 2.0 Compact magazines.

They are not compatible.

The S&W M&P Compact magazines are too short to use in the S&W M&P 2.0 Compact.

Take a nice trip to Vegas. Find a store that has them in stock. Buy them and permanently block them to 10 rounds. You can then bring your newly castrated and California legal magazines into the great golden state.

I'm pretty sure full sized will work with the grip extender until you can pick up some normal 10rders. Good luck

You could find a local FFL with a hi-cap permit (there's one in Corona that I know of but probably something closer) and have them order mags for you then block them. If you can locate the mags for them first, it might speed things up a bit.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I already have some full size magazines so I'll definitely be using the sleeves on those as some have suggested. My goal is to get actual 2.0 compact magazines so that they'd sit flush to the grip.
It's unfortunate that they're in such low stock. I was able to find one place that has them in stock still so hopefully I can find a place that can block them.
Have some vacation time coming up soon so I may actually take a trip to Vegas haha.
And I assumed all ffl's had the capacity to purchase standard magazines to have blocked, but it's good to know that that's not the case for future reference.
Thanks again everybody!

I second this. Audiophil has been fantastic with everything else. However, I do not know for sure if he blocks mags anymore. I suggest contacting him and seeing if he is able to.

Here is his calguns link...

Any update on the 10-round mag?

Mike at West Coast Survival Arms in Chula Vista, CA can help you. He can order it for you and block them for around $10 each.

You're in Orange County? You don't need vacation time to drive to Vegas, lol.

I wonder if there would be any interest in offering magazine blocking services to my fellow Calgunners still stuck behind the iron curtain?

I'm in Texas, so I have no magazine capacity restrictions.

I still block mags. I just did 3 of the new compact 2.0 mags this week.

I did not advertise much due to personal issues and having a big backlog. Im all caught up now.

The M&P 2.0 is not on the Roster.

OP sucks that you finally got an off-roster gun only to not be able to find magazines for your gun due to CA magazine capacity law

I was having the same issue, audiophil2 helped, he just did those 3 mags for me. Send him a message, best prices available. I ordered the mags online and had them shipped straight to him.

Wow, no idea why this came back from the dead haha. Thanks for all the suggestions/help regardless though! Ive since been able to nab 7 compact mags to have blocked so Im good for now. Maybe somebody else in the same predicament can find this helpful.
As far as the person asking about if the 2.0 is worth the hype, maybe? Haha.
Some call it a glock killer (its not, and I hate glocks). Its just another very good competitor in the glock19/compact class. In the right hands, its as good as any other gun out there in that price range.
I just have a stupid habit of really taking a liking to things that are not as common.

Either block the factory mags or if you have compact 1.0 mags contact S&W and they may just send you the base retention plates and the mag block extension.
