Talking Just wanted to officially announce it...

I am part of the GGG, "Triple G", G'squared, etc.

For those of you not "in the know", it means I am part of the Gucci Glock Gang

We are the idiots that spend $500 on a gun, then spend another $1,500 upgrading "Glock Perfections"

Just got a Brownell's g19 rmr slide, threw a type 2 RMR on there, and an Apex Trigger, and some stipple/undercuts and oh boy do I get tingles in all the right (or wrong) places.

On a more serious note, an RMR on a handgun is amazing. I used one in a class about a month ago and decided I had to have one. I have almost been exclusively a Glock guy. First handgun i ever shot was a 17. So I am used to them. So the red dot/sight alignment from draw was a non issue. Dot is almost always dead center upon extension. Man does it make moving and shooting and longer distance shots easier. Still getting used to the whole target focus instead of front site post focus thing.

Also anyone thinking about buying a Brownells slide, I would say go for it. I put 500 rounds through mine of blazer aluminum, white box, and steel case. no malfunctions and consistent ejection. I did not lubricate the gun either. Only issue I had was mounting the RMR. If you get a type 2 sealing plate, the provided screws were to short to grab the threads on the slide. Get Brownells to send some 4-40 3/8 screws instead of the standard 1/4.

If anyone has not had the chance to try it, you really need to.

finally got to run my standard 15's with +3 baseplates and do a few mag dumps. Felt great

Don't worry, there is help for what you have. Most doctors prescribe a nice 1911 for GGG.

The Prophet Gaston has spoken, and thy Glock is "perfection"

No need for the peasant John Browning's Design!

I ended up buying a complete glock 19 gen 3 frame and went completely custom on the upper. Went for a Statement Defense Glock 19 upper in CallahanCam, CMC bronze fluted barrel and to finish it off added a rmr type 2 and a stream light flashlight. So happy with how it looks! Wish I knew how to post pictures. Congrats on your purchase brofher

That sounds pretty sweet! were GGG brothers! Hows it shoot?

I have a surefire x300 I meant to put on there and shoot it with. Curious if the weight in the front will make the perceived recoil be "flatter"

I recently joined this club as well.

I still have a few mods before I get to go shoot it.

It definitely shoots better than me. Lol I really wanna put a x300 on mine as well but I’m trying to budget it to work on other projects too. I really can’t tell the weight difference with the light on it, but it did take me a bit to get used to shooting with a RDS on a handgun. Now I just wanna put a RMR on every handgun I own lol

My glock is stock...

Is there any benefit to ordering a slide vs. sending your OEM out for milling?

I am a Glock fan but recently picked up a GC 1911. The 1911 is definitely more accurate and has less recoil, BUT does give up round count, ease of cleaning, weapon breakdown, and possibly reliability.

Spending over $500 ON TOP of the Glock is crazy, but I have to admit, P.T. Barnum was right.

I just wanna warn people that GGG is not something that should be googled at work or around children

That said, I have a "glock" that has exactly 2 parts manufactured by glock- the magazine release spring, and the extended slide release. The total cost to build was north of 2400

Why waste money on fixing up a Honda. Rather spend extra on real custom built Racer.

Sometimes people who've sent their slide out for milling will throw the red dot in the mail with it to have it fitted along with the slide, for a super snug fit. So far I've had 2 slides pre-cut for an rmr, they fit pretty easily, but not so loose that they would lose zero or anything.

Gotcha thank you.

For the monetary cost war... here I am dropping thousands into accessories on a $1k built AR-15. Same concept, no?

Scalarworks stuff and optics aint cheap.

I've been happy with my Brownells slide and Holosun 507c.

It's not a Gucci Glock.

You need to step up your game to TTI/Agency/Salient/etc. to reach Gucci status.

Go full Roland special... then we can talk.

After a long time of resisting and much thought, I finally decided to join the bandwagon and get a Red Dot on my Glock. I chose the Holosun 507C (took a while to decide that too).

I'm kinda excited about it all now.

OP -- enjoy your new gun, and post pics ... don't worry about these losers posting pics of their 1911's whats believe it's the only gun that's worthy of owning ... these characters will soon be extinct and the world won't miss them.

When the Glock Fanboys finally get real jobs, they might be able to afford something other than a Glock.

My first Troll post ever, sure got a response.

I don't hate Glocks, just like my plasti-Springer better than my son's friends 23, something about that mushy trigger compared to the XD's.

Now now, EVERY gun is worth owning! Except a taurus, they probably aren't worth owning. That being said, the 1911 is more worth owning.

The worst kept secret in the world is the vast disconnect between a Glock's MSRP and the actual value of the pistol in practical terms. Aside from the market distortion caused by the roster, it actually makes sense to dump money into a Glock and tailor it to an individual's tastes when the base model is relatively cheap.

I do recognize your sarcasm, but some faux-elitists actually think like that.

The Taurus clones of the Beretta 92 are great pistols, actually.
