Default Remington 700 PCR, thoughts

Hey all,
Just bought the PCR in 6.5 creedmore and wondering what everyones thoughts were. I pick it up on Friday.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Range time with it a plus.

Thanks.

Jason...

My only thoughts are, buy good glass and good match ammo for it. Other than that just go shoot it.

I have the 700 PCR in 308 Win, with a vortex viper pst 6-24x50 scope on Vortex precision matched rings and an atlas bipod. Added a short piece of picatinny rail to the underside of the handguard to accommodate the QD mount on my bipod. I have shot a 0.6" 5-round group at 100 yards off my bipod with good factory ammo -- Federal match grade rounds with 168 grain Sierra Match King bullets. Overall I am very impressed with it and I paid about $900 plus tax so overall (from MidwayUSA). I think it is a great choice and great value for an accurate chassis rifle. Really surprised I don't see more discussion about it. I think its totally underrated.

BTW this is my second Rem 700 and frankly I don't get the Remington trigger. Seems like no matter how much you try to adjust it the pull weight stays more or less the same. I replaced the trigger in both with the Timney 2 stage "Calvin Elite".

I can't wait to see how my 700 PCR performs with handloads and maybe some 175 grain SMK's.

Oh and it really needs a muzzle brake, it only comes with a thread protector.

Generally speaking, you should ask about peoples thoughts BEFORE you purchase the rifle. But I know the felling. Anytime I buy something I will watch "reviews" online while I wait for it to arrive.

Displacednavycop,
Did you get that PCR out to the range yet?
I had mine out this morning, and my best 5-shot group at 100 yards can be covered with a dime. Using Federal Gold medal match 168 gr. SMK's. Despite all the static from the Remington haters, this rifle really is a shooter. And at a street price of about $900, its an incredible value.
