Default Using jacketed load data for cast. Help

Is there a general rule of thumb, or possibly a conversion to translate load data for jacketed projectiles when using cast boolits?
I am loading .40 using cast 180gr.
Using up some bullseye powder I've had sitting around right now, but planning a switch to wsf.
Having a hard time finding data.
Any help would be great.

Start with low end jacketed data for cast projectiles. Then work up your load as you normally would.

Get a casting reloading book. Some of those powders might be too hot for lead and cause leading. The other day someone posted some great load data on a thread for the 40sw i suggest finding it. They are good load data for competition shooting

.40 is a high psi round so make sure you keep your OAL on the long side.

Jyman cast bullet 4th edition has a number of loads listed for different bullet weights and powders. they list bullseye from 4.5-5.0 with the 180 grain for the 40sw.

Thanks for the tips!
Right now Im playing with an OAL between 1.130 & 1.135
For the bullseye I started at 4.5gr
Amazingly accurate, and fairly soft shooting.
I did a small batch at 4.3gr to test out this weekend.
So far happy with the performance of the bullseye, but it smokes like a s.o.b.
If there is no wind blowing, it looks like a diesel train drove by after I've emptyed a mag full.
Some folks recommended trying wsf as it smokes less.
Also, fills the case a little better which is easier to see before seating the projectile. Also less chance of a double charge.
Thanks again!
