This only highlights the need for everyone to vote at all times. We are at the point where down is the only direction possible if we do not fight constantly.

Get registered to vote, and vote! You can do it by mail ballot, don't even have to leave the house.

Email sent yesterday.

IMO do NOT ramble, pre-write and proof read what you want to send, and pick ONE or TWO bills to focus on. And contest it on moral/fiscal/"legal" grounds and NOT on the basis that they are unconstitutional. You need to appeal to his progressive post-constitutional sensibilities.

Just emailed him. As he's done in the past, let's hope he vetoes these unconstitutional bills. That should buy us 2 years until Newsom screws us all.

I was just trying to point out AGAIN that some of the members in Calguns cry about how the Ca legislatures are taking away all their freedoms, and at the same time they're at the polling booths voting democratic. Things in this state will never change as long as those people continue down that same insane path.

I urge you to veto all upcoming gun control legislation that are blatant infringements of the second amendment.

SCOTUS has already affirmed that rifles in common use are protected. The rifles being restricted by said legislation is very much in common use and owned by hundreds of thousands of Californians for law abiding purposes. This legislation is nothing more than an underhanded attempt to make otherwise law abiding citizens accidental felons and deprive the use of lawfully purchased property. The same can be said for the proposed ammunition restrictions and will likely not stand any legal challenge at the federal level under strict scrutiny.

As a result of the continual attack on gun rights, I have been left with no choice but to become a single issue voter and will be voting Republican for all state Assembly and Senate representatives in the future. I will urge my peers to do the same.

He has a history of vetoing a very small number of them. Why? In a state controlled by leftists, why would he veto something that the leftists want? That doesn't make any sense at all, because it can only cause him political harm in a state controlled by leftist lunatics.

A reasonable answer is that he actually thinks some of the legislation goes too far, or is poorly written, or destined to be costly & ineffective, etc. Not as much as we'd like, but some.

You'd be well-served to write a logical, concise, respectful and eloquent letter to him explaining what you find to be the worst flaw in one of the worst pieces of legislation. It can only help. If he's gone off the deep end and will sign all the legislation, you've done no harm, and if he's actually got a microscopic amount of reasonable human in him somewhere then you might just appeal to that little bit that's left

My personal opinion is that he's worked hard on California's finances, and doesn't want to see any money pissed away on silly programs. So maybe skip the "shall not be infringed" speech to him, find something that'll cost CA money and expose it for the waste it is.

Writing to Brown right now, can anyone remember which senator during the broadcast said that his law was only a "minor infringement" so it was okay?

about to send my mail, what do you guys think?

Quote:
Dear Governor Brown, as you are probably aware, several severely restrictive gun bills were passed on the date of May 19th, 2016. These bills; SB 880, SB 894, SB 1006, SB 1235, SB 1407, AB 1511, AB 1135, AB 156, and AB 857 have proposed unfair bans and regulations. Ineffective regulation of the purchasing of ammunition, the banning of any and all semi-automatic rifles and handguns regardless of a points system, the removal of all (including grandfathered) high capacity magazines, placing the blame of firearms theft on the victim rather than the criminal, the wasting of taxpayer money on research that will almost certainly be biased towards those who put it into law, the forcing of collectors of antique firearms to decrease their value by adding costly serialization to them, and the criminalization of loaning a friend or family member at the range a firearm. In my honest opinion, all of these laws are blatant infringements on the 2nd amendment rights of the citizens of this state. One senator during the broadcast of the May 19th meeting said that one law should be passed because it is only a "minor infringement" on citizens! Another problem I have with these bills is that they were subject to severe gutting and amending prior to being introduced to the floor. The process had been enacted so quickly that the gathered senators did not even have hard copies of the bills they were to vote on! Several of these bills did not even have gun legislation on them, but were bills that had been passed through previous legislative processes completely unrelated. SB 1235 dealt with employee retirement, AB 156 dealt with global warming, AB 857 dealt with enacting clean vehicle rule for trucks, buses, and off road trucks, AB 1511 was a clean energy program for the SERCDC. These blatant examples of last minute gut-and-amend to push previously failed and vetoed bills without proper legislative review have no place in our government. I am a registered Democrat, and planned to vote for Democrats in coming elections, but the abuses against an enumerable civil right as written in the constitution have slowly been pushing me to consider voting for Republican candidates, despite my distaste for some of their views. Governor Brown, I urge you to please veto each of these bills, not just because of their blatant right infringements, but because of the underhanded way some of them were introduced. Thank you for your time

Sincerely,

Really? I read some of your remarks in here putting down those who don't stay and fight back. I did the best I could. Join the NRA back in 2012. Help contribute money into it. Signed petitions.... But where were you? If you truly are trying to do something, than good for you. But their are many of us who are now in our sixties and can't wait a generation to fix stupid in Socialist Kaliforniastan. Sorry but I have two good reasons to move now. One is my Civilian Army contracting job is moving to Nevada at the end of this year. Two, I am sixty-three years old and want to enjoy my Civil Liberties and 2nd Amendment Rights while I am still in good shape. Talk is cheap when some people in here are thumping their chest and putting down others for not fighting back. Oh and don't forget as long we have stupid and ignorant voters keep electing the same bad politicians... things are only to get worse. Wish you luck and I hope you do win this in a generation. But many of us can't wait and will move to FREE States were the employment and freedoms we can enjoy.

Thank you to everyone that has reached out so far; please don't stop there! Write multiple times, spread the word about this post so people will see; we need to finally be united against these laws that have been taking our rights for quite some time.

We cannot stand to be fragmented anymore; I feel the pain of those who have fought the good fight before us that could not mobilize the masses of legal gun owners in this state that are present. If everyone truly contributed, we would not be in this situation at all.

California is one of the largest gun markets in the United States; don't tell me we can't get enough people to make a difference!

As everyone writes their response to the Governor, please remember to keep it respectful; we want to make sure that we don't portray ourselves in a fashion that gives those against our cause any ammunition, lest they have to submit themselves for a background check.

Also, remember to spread the word about this post, and what we are trying to do!

Yes, Mayor Mcrifle is too busy paying the politicians for the pleasure of licking their boots. This is how he has chosen to fight

We've got serious work to do, and we need serious people to do what needs to be done. Your tired shtick is useless and counterproductive. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
