Default which magnifier?

I am deciding which magnifier to purchase to sit behind my EOTech XPS2-0 on my AR. I am deciding between the EOTech G33.STS or one of the Primary Arms magnifiers, the 6x gen 2 or 3x long eye relief. Let's pretend they are all of the same brand and same cost. Which is one better and why?

Just buy the cheaper one (in price) and use the rest of the money to shoot some rounds through it.

If only I knew which one I wanted. I will keep that in mind though. Why are you selling it?

sold most of my red dot sights - using variable scopes on most rifles now... I kept an Aimpoint Pro and a Lucid magnifier (for standby)... don't really have a use for this magnifier anymore (it was always a back-up anyway).

Is it the x3 or x2-5 Lucid magnifier? Also, what mount were you using with it? I've been trying to make up my mind on the G33 or the Lucid x3.

My personal favorite is the Eotech G33. It has an excellent flip to side mount and I like the diopter ring to focus the reticle. The glass is absolutely clear without any distortion.

If you can spend on the Eotech magnifier, I'd probably go that route. I bought my XPS2 from Primary Arms in a combo deal with the 6x magnifier and a swing to side mount, which works great! but the magnifier glass isn't super clear. I mean, for its purpose it definitely works, but I looked through my buddy's ACOG right after and saw what a huge difference there is between more expensive and cheaper glass.

For a simple magnifier, I bet the Primary Arms will suit you just fine. Truth is magnifiers are very simple devices.

I bet there's little a $100 magnifier can't do that a $400 one can.

Now... when we're talking scopes with turrets and zoom... that's a completely different animal and every buck counts.

I had the same question. The 3X Primary Arms Magnifier is around 200 for sight and mount versus 460 for the EoTech.

Is the EoTech $260 better?

Is this the G23 or G33?

One day you will realize this set up is bulky and a waste of time. Then you'll buy some real optics. Until then, don't spend a lot on a magnifier, its a simple part.

I have the PA 3x long relief magnifier. Works great! I have it paired up with an Aimpoint Pro and an PA MD-06L.

I have a PA 3x behind my EOTech and it works great. Glass is perfectly clear and it does it's job. I have not dropped it or put it through any crazy abuse, so I can't really comment on it's durability, but I have never had an issue with it. I have looked through a buddy's EOTech magnifier and couldn't really tell a difference in clarity or picture quality. There may be some other reason the EOTech costs so much more, but I don't think it's the glass.

You'll get tired of the magnifier pretty fast I assure you. I wouldn't waste much money on one cuz it'll end up in a drawer pretty fast. I have an Aimpoint Magnifier and an EOTech Magnifier that I never use.

Too heavy, to clunky, marginal eye relief. You are better off buying a GOOD 1-4X scope. Trust me.

he's already stated he ended up going with an Eotech though. I haven't gotten to get out where I can shoot pass 25 yards. but after picking up a primary arms magnifier I can already tell I'd rather probably have a 1-4X scope. I figure I'll leave this as a CQB setup and pick up a variable scope for another build.

If I had no optic yet, I would go with a 1-4x.

I have two EOTechs, a 512 and an EXPS2-2, and I've been very happy with my two Vortex magnifiers, the original VMX3 and the newer VMX-3T.
