Cool How many rounds did it take before your CZ opened up?!?!?!

I just shot about 100 rounds yesterday with my SP-01 and when I hit about 60 rounds, it seemed like she just opened up and was more dead on. Could have just been me adjusting but it seemed like every shot was right next to the last one.

Just wondering how many rounds it took before your CZ opened up???

Default You

I think it was just you getting used to the feel of the grip and the trigger. That is what happens with me anyhow. The more I get to know a gun, the better I get with it. Glad to hear your SP01 is a tack driver though. So is mine.

It took me several hundred to get used to it after shooting Glocks for so long. Whereas I point my dominant wrist down with the Glock, I keep my wrist neutral with the SP-01.

I kick myself everyday for not getting the Tactical model before "SSE" ended.
I just wanted the decocker.

I don't think you know the meaning of "opened up." Any perceived change in handgun accuracy inside of 50,000 rounds is 100% in your mind.

My first CZ was a 75B and the trigger was gritty at first. After 500 rds it got smoother and after 2000 it had gotten VERY smooth.
That is really the only change I could detect.

I've found that some guns need a little breaking-in. The barrel/slide interface moves around until it figures out exactly where it wants to stay. Then it starts to get more consistent as that interface wears-in. After awhile, the barrel/slide always moves the exact same way every shot. It can take anywhere between 100 and 200 rounds - usually.

I suspect that's what happened to your gun.

Just wondering why... I'm curious what appeal the decocker model holds. Personally I much prefer the safety. I like the option of cocked & locked.

To each his own I guess...

btw, my SP-01 was great right out of the box.

My SP-01 got me at hello

I think it shot fine right out of the box. It could be you getting used to it.

Enjoy!

That is the CZitis your feeling OP. It has been known to induce CZ aqusitions among other symptoms.

Just give in, there is no known treatment. I've had the itis for a few years now, things could be worse.

I shot about 1,500 rounds out of my new CZ 75 TS last weekend. I'll admit that it opened up really well as I was shooting it better towards the end than I was in the beginning.

The decocker model of the SP-01 has the word Tactical stamped on the slide. When I first got into CZ's, I wanted that one without even knowing the difference between the safety model and decocker model. It was just tacticool

But after learning all the different model, I could care less about that model. What you really want is a Shadow because that's the real deal.

I've had several stock SP-01s shoot into the one ragged hole. They are just very accurate pistols.

Keep shooting it and it will smooth out more because the parts are still stiff and tight when new. Technically, 500 rounds is the break in period, but you can use higher powered ammo to break it in faster such as NATO rounds, which I feel a big difference after about 200 rounds. People may also experience FTFs during break in period but shoot flawlessly after breaking it in.

It could be that the barrel fouling reached equilibrium at 60 rounds.

CZ USA makes a 22 LR conversion kit called the Kadet II. It comes with a new slide and 2 magazines and is a very accurate shooter. Price is around $375-$450 depending on where you get it from.

150 rounds and 200 dry-fires through my P 01, and the trigger is still gritty. The trigger bite from D/A is a real pain in the butt. I will shoot 500-600 rounds through it next month. If the trigger doesn't soften up, I'll probably end up sending it to CGW for the Pro Package (which includes the 85C trigger). I read a lot of good reviews about them.
