Default Dirty 22lr

I have a little situation. I wrapped up around 300 rounds of 22lr in a blue towel for about a week. I was going to transfer them to a container. After opening the towel I see that they are covered in blue lint, I mean absolutely covered. I don't want to run this through my mags or rifle. However, if I wipe these off I'll remove the wax or can the wax withstand a wiping from a microfiber cloth? Any suggestions?

300 rounds, so $10-15, have any single shot 22 rifles?

No, I don't. I understand its not going to cost much to replace it but its a shame to junk it. I wiped a couple off really well and compared it to an uncleaned one and the sheen on the surface of the lead appears identical. I wonder if the wax is on there better than I'm thinking...

Forget it. It isn't worth your time. You're talking about $10 in ammo. Just buy a bucket o bullets for $65, 1400 rounds and you're set.

You may be right, looks like big 5 has a brick of Blazer for 25 bucks. It just hurts my heart.

Go steal the wife's lint roller and roll it around on them. Or get some masking tape and do the same thing.

I was tempted but I don't want to lead up my barrel shooting an uncoated round if I remove the wax. I'll probably just slide these guys to the back of the shelf.

Unless you're talking high-end Olympics type target rifle I can't imagine them causing any problems. As a kid I walked around with a pocket full of .22's for days; they were covered by dirt and lint but still killed rabbits.

This.

If you are worried, drop them in a bucket of water, drain, dry, shoot and report back on results.

OP you are over thinking this. Just shoot them and give the gun a good cleaning after.

The place my Dad would take me to shoot as a kid was a dusty dirt area. He would open a brick and dump the .22 rounds right on the ground and I would sit there load and shoot right from the dirt. Fun times.
