Default Pinks and Greens are approved for 2020

https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-...rvice-uniform/

Looks like 2020 (basically OCT-2019) is the roll out year, with 2028 being the requirement year (I'll just about be retired).

New soldiers will only be issued them when they reach their assigned units. I suspect Reservists wont be issued at all. Any event requiring formal dress for a reservist can be sufficed by the Blues.

LEATHER BOMBER jacket is approved for outerwear.

Eagerly awaiting the new 670-1 for Bomber Jacket guidelines.

I won't lie, I'm kind of into it. It would be nice to have some "service" uniform like the other branches have and I'm glad they're not building it on the ASU. As to how it'll look in the formation? Lol, maybe if people aren't able to hide their shape under trashbag-fitting OCPs they'll be more inclined to stay in shape.

What I would really love too is if we can do it with just rank, name plate, and maybe U.S., and branch? Doubt that would happen, but it would be nice if you didn't have to spend twenty minutes measuring and setting everything up every time it's cleaned.

Hopefully they're worn with a simple cap too, rather than something that has to be shaved, shaped, and worn in x manner which always seems to mimic SF..., or else you're a sh%tbag.

That one I won't hold my breath on.

Which is how often for a daily-wear item?
My dad used to have his suits dry cleaned once every 6 months, but he only wore them to church and special events.
I didn't like the way my old band uniform smelled after two parades.

Yeah I honestly don't know? I'd have to chat with the Marines about their service uniform. I wear the ASUs a couple of times a year and usually have them pressed each time. I'm sure for daily wear I'd spread it out a lot more and do daily touchups.

Although I think the current ASU looks cool with the throwback to the old uniform of the Civil War/Indian Wars, I do like this green throw back to WW2. Looks way better than the previous green service uniform.
