Default Duty Belt question

Good Afternoon All,

I' am a security officer moving to armored car. I have to wear a duty belt to support the new level 3 holster. I wear a 34 pants and had a 38 Gould and Goodrich B59 that's a little too loose. The firearm is a Custom II so not a plastic gun :<). Is the size 36 galls ok or should I go down to 34? Only wearing the firearm holster and leather galls double mag pouch

Prob just 34. Most duty belt include an extra couple inches in their size to accommodate pouches etc.

You say you're only carrying a gun and mags. Do you have to wear a duty belt or will a reinforced type of gun belt work just as well? If the latter is allowed, I would recommend that unless you plan to carry more down the road.

If a duty belt if required, are you looking at leather or nylon? Nylon allows for a good amount of adjustability so just look for a belt that you like where your size falls in the middle somewhere. if it were leather, I would go for a 36. My only leather belt is my Class A and I use a 36 (normal pant size is 34 with a little bit of room).

If you buy the correct size belt, it usually have couple of notches that you can adjust either way. I won't buy an oversized one.

FWIW I find leather to be exponentially more comfortable once broken in if you have to wear one. If you don't have too I wouldn't bother.
