Default Shimano Tallus TLC-70MHBBL for 50-100lb tuna?

I have a Shimano Tallus Blue water series conventional 7' MH fast action rod rated for 40-80lb line (TLC-70MHBBL). I have not picked a reel yet. But would this rod cut it for flylining for 50-100lb tuna from a private boat? I don't have an 80lb rig and was wondering about this rod. If it wouldn't be a good choice, what would you suggest this rod be used for?

Put a Penn fathom40ld2 on it,

fill with #80 braid to a short top shot of flouro and you can kill a lot bigger fish than that.

Your'e not going to cast any anchovies with it but it should sail the sardines and troll fine.

Line capacity.

Youíll want at least 400-500 yards of 65# braid in addition to whatever mono/floro is on top. Reality is youíre not going to want to stand up with more than 20 pounds of drag for any length of time, so whether youíre fishing 80 or 100# braid, youíre not going to fish 25-30 pounds of drag without help for very long. Unless you are a beast.

What youíll want is a two speed to grind the fish up. Tuna dive. If it dies on you itíll be really hard at 5:1. A private boat will be helpful because the skipper wonít be yelling at you while youíre hung on a bigger fish with 20 (because sometimes the fish are line shy), the boat is off the school and needs to move. Donít ask me how I know about this.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
