Thank you for posting the pictures above of this great man. As I said earlier in my above post I only knew Jim for the 4 days and 3 nights that I had the pleasure of camping in the site directly next to him and his family at Coloma on the American river this last July. He was a complete gentleman, host to all he was around that included 7 of my family members as well as others in the area,a family man and a true giver to all around us for those days. He told us he had gone to that campground for 10 or so years for vacation every year.I am sure that anyone who knew Jim felt that warm feeling he shared with us all, we knew that as we got to know him a was a special soul. We will always be very grateful to have met him and his family and will never forget. Our hearts go to his family at this most difficult time. I have one wish of the Calguns members if possible please contribute to his families trust fund as much as possible. We must be thankful in so many ways. Thank you to Jim most of all.

Burger City in Vacaville will be hosting a fund raiser today (Tuesday) from 11am-9pm for the Capoot family. 20% of sales will be deposited in the Capoot memorial fund. Stop by and grab lunch or dinner!

I have reservations for 6 PM (look for my RPD shirt or something like that ) and will be trying to ditch St. Helena in time to bypass the bottleneck in American Canyon. Most evenings, I tend to sleep with my eyes open because we're rolling at less than 10 mph.

When I spoke with the restaurant on the phone, they told me that they're accepting reservations. Since I have a group, I thought that would be the smart thing to do.

My kid's middle school teacher had a fundraiser there a few years back -- and it was standing room only -- even at the bar

Will you be planning on lunch or dinner? The restaurant told me that there was no set time for the fundraiser, but since I'm stuck at work in meetings, I opted for the evening.

Feds are claiming a 40% increase in LODD's over the last two years... WTF? These unfortunate reminders of the dangers of our chosen profession are truly getting old. Hold your loved ones close and cherish each & every moment with them...

Godspeed, Jim.

I can only speak for my group of friends from CC County and RPD, but I'm hoping there's a group of Calguns LEOs attending
