Default Did ASR get burned in the fire?!?!?!

I know Angeles Shooting Range is right in the area where the fire suppossedly took place. Anybody know if it's still there?

From what I know now it's still mostly there. Some of the surrounding veg got burned but the structures are mostly ok. I'll try to get up there in the morning, if they're letting vehicles up in there.

I'm real close, it'll take an extra two minutes if it's a no go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that. Thank god the wind didn't come the other direction.

I hope so too. The ranges themselves cannot burn down but the structures and sun shades are vulnerable. Luckily they are not surrounded by trees or vegetation.

Some of the building have large amounts of powder in them as well, but I would imagine the news would have gone nuts if there was a big explosion.

That would've been calls for a law to ban storing more than 50 rounds of ammunition in any one place. This is California, remember? They'd call it Make Our Children Safe Act, or something like that.

This is precisely why we shouldn't take whatever ranges we do have left for granted.

Power out but may open on Wed. but no night shooting.
Power may be back in a couple days.
Phone lines are a mess, mostly laying on the road, no idea on that fix yet.
Shooting lines in good shape no fire damage.
Down range most trees and shrubs are gone.
Moore & Moore Sporting clays had more damage than us.
Will try to keep up dates on the web page starting Wed.

Thanks Reload243 for the update! Very happy the range is ok with minimal singeing!
