Looks like a good fit on my 80% arms lower

BTW, this upper fits my Tactical Machining 100% lowers and my M1 Machining 80's as well.

Received mine today. It fits my Fulton Armory lower perfectly. Heavy, but seems like a quality piece.

The complete upper weighs 6lbs 5.5 oz. The handguard itself weighs 16.4oz not including the barrel nut which looks heavy. BCG is 18.4oz which is maybe .5 to 1oz heavier than average.

Barrel profile looks pretty good. Not too heav, not to thin.

Mine shipped, says it'll arrive on the 28th...that's so far away!!!

But at least it'll give me time to machine out the 80% lower for it

Oh, and are AR 15 hand guards comparable with this? I'm guessing no?

Thanks for posting this. What are some of the lighter weight handguards?

Got mine last week, went out behind the house to cycle check, its shoots fine and cycles fine on my aero precision lower. Anyone know which fore end cap will fit over the break? Or if the muzzle break is removable?

APF are great rifles, they've been floating around out here in Minnesota for a couple years, being a local company. I'm planning on jumping on an upper when they come back in stock at AIM.

Not sure what you mean by "fore end cap"..... Yes, the muzzle break is easily removable with an ar 15 wrench or other wrench.

I got to test out my upper at it ate 80 rounds so far without any problems! Put an adjustable gas block on it and removed the buffer tube weights it had very little recoil as a result. Similar to an ak47

The included installed 5/8-24 threaded A2 muzzle device is easily removable, I replaced mine with a muzzle brake.

FYI I took the handguard off mine and found the barrel nut loose and being held in place by the gas tube. looks like I will need some barrel nut shims to get this to line up. Might want to check yours.

If anyone is interested I'm going to sell this 308 upper, decided to go another route. Its brand new, I never fired it. Hoping to sell face to face in Sacramento, or wiling to ship. FTF 460$ , if shipping I will have to get a quote.
PM if interested

Anyone have one of these uppers I can try on my palmetto state PA10 lower to see if it fits before I order one? Someone near ventura county would be nice or I can drive a short way to you.

if you buy PSA you're stuck with PSA.

Do a search and you will see what i mean. You will have a gap.

Ordered one yesterday. For those that are OCD like myself when it comes to upper/lower receiver mating, I know AIM surplus wont ship the matching lower receiver to CA but contact member audiophil2 for his middleman FFL services. He took care of me right away and I should be DROSing the receiver at my local FFL sometime next week. I'll post up pics once I complete the build.

Also, APFArmory.com is supposedly a separate company but their stripped 308 lower looks identical on their website to the one on AIM Surplus website. I have confirmed that contrary to what it states on their website, APF Armory will ship to CA.

APF= Alex pro firearms, these are Alexandria Pro-fab which is a machining company and not a firearm company. That said, Alexandria makes the parts for APF and they are literally neighbors. I had quality issues with my complete upper but Alexandria pro-fab is replacing it and covering shipping both ways.

Ya I saw that they are separate companys in a few different places after doing an online search. I thought it was kind of weird that the picture of the stripped 308 lower on the APF website has Alexandria pro fab markings on it though. Oh well. What issues did you have with your complete upper?

Lone Wolf, did you ever DROS your Alexandria Pro-Fab stripped lower? If you have, could you give a quick update on it? Quality? Fit with the Alexandria PRo-Fab upper? What LPK did you use with it?

It would fit on an aero precision lower. It will fit any DPMS patterned 308 lower. PSA 308 are a little different than the DPMS standard

I had it on an Aero and while it technically "fit", there was a significant gap at the rear just above the rear take down pin. I didn't like the gap soI sold the Aero.

As for the PSA lower, it is rumored that Alexandria Pro-Fab makes the lowers and uppers for PSA. Not sure about that, just something I heard.

I purchased the Alexandria Pro-Fab stripped lower direct from Alexandria Pro-Fab for $100+$13 shipping. Had it in 4 days. $25 FFL fee, tax, & DROS and I pick it up on Friday.

These must be fairly popular, ive seen them go out of stock and come back in twice. They just raised the price $10 to 469.95 which is still a deal.

I figure the same thing, but finding a comprehensive review of one is difficult. I just completed my Alexandria Pro-Fab build and will be putting up my review as soon as I can get to the range. So far though, I am VERY pleased with it.

I received mine in about 4 days, standard shipping. If you have an order confirmation # you should call and follow up on it.

Here's a pic of my completed Alexandria Pro-Fab .308

Yes, the hand guard uses what is called a "T-Mod" rail. It uses a backing piece that slides into a slot on the inside of the guard. The the picatiny rail section screws into that piece. AIM Surplus sells a three piece kit (two medium length and one short length rail). I purchased one medium length section from Alex Pro Firearms (not Alexandria Pro-Fab, but they are related). One section, backing plate, and 4 screws cost @ $20. I like how they attach and work. You can place them anywhere along the hand guard.
