Also, be aware that Turner's Pasadena is one of the busiest location pre-craziness. Now, with all that craziness going on, it's 2-3 times busier that I had to show up real early before opening time of 10AM so I can get the parts and accessories behind the counter. |

I have no idea if Turners is being ridiculous or not. I just keep thinking I wish so badly I could do what they did to some of my regular complaining customers. With my company, they know if they complain, they will get something free. I also tend to think many of the most ridiculous of them think they are being completely reasonable.
Once again no disrespect to the OP, I have never been to a Turners either so it is very possible he was in the right and they are in the wrong. |

People always try for freebies at Turner's. I watched one guy say he always got a military discount with his VA ID card. The store would not budge. I saw his card, it was not even annotated "Service Connected" to show an injury. It's just an ID card. They want the CAC card of course for a discount.

I've not asked for, never asked for, and never wanted anything for free. I simply want what I paid for. Or, in the case of my issue with them leaving my ID on the counter in plain sight, I did demand that they change how they handle sensitive information.

I had an issue with buying a high end custom shop revolver. I had to order it and when I went to pick it up it had a drag ring around the cylinder. I just looked as if it had been handled and I asked for a replacement that was NIB. They kept giving me a new delivery date each time I called and finally told me to get lost, they weren't interested in my purchase any longer. I wrote an email to corporate and got a reply from the president thanking me for bringing this to his attention and promising to improve customer service. Doesn't sound like they have improved. This was several years ago.

I have been a customer of Turners for about 20+ years and I wish we had more gun stores/dealers around besides turners and some pawn shops. I DO NOT LIKE SHOPPING AT TURNERS !! 80% of the time they the younger employees think their crap dont stink and talk about being arrogant. For the most part the older staff are more respectful and professional. The staff at Bass Pro Shop are very good at least with my experiaces. It might be a pay structure commision pay etc.

Wish Larry could chime in and tell his side of his story instead of hearing just DrDavid's side. I believe customer service in priority, but with "DrDavid, that went to law school" is asking for a personal phone call and apology tells me that's a PITA customer. I'm pretty sure there have been multiple incidents when you visited that store, it's takes a lot for a sales rep to shine you away like that, and for what reason? We may never know. It should have been a part of your resposibiltiy to double check the paper work aswell, they do you have you read and sign it. And why would you even call around this time knowing that there swamped more than ever, why, cause you spent a ton of money there and that they know you by your first name so you think your best buds now, and you deserve special treatment ? C'mon Dr.David...

Since DrDavid is expecting Turner's to apologize for leaving his ID out, did he apologize for being the one to have the serial number error and wasting their time? Seems it goes both ways.

Wow. The thread crap brigade is out in full force tonight.
Few minor points. I've purchased guns from turners and brought my parents there to buy a gun too. I would have bought even more guns from them, but they didn't have the gun I wanted in stock at the time I wanted to purchase. This was the first time I've ever done a PPT. Literally, the first time I've *ever* done a PPT as opposed to buying new. I did apologize for wasting their time when they said it was correct. I also thanked them for checking. However, he might not have heard either since he didn't let me get a word in edgewise. But, thanks everyone for assuming that I'm an *******. Much appreciate it. I don't ask for much around here, but I do ask for some respect and for the ad hominem's and wild assumptions/assertions to cease. I do a crap load of stuff for the gun community in general, and I think I've earned a little bit of insulation from being attacked on this board. So, let's try to keep this discussion civil.

1. I've purchased guns from Turner's and have helped my parents purchase a gun from Turner's. 2. I've literally done ONE PPT there (well, four of them, but all on one visit). 3. Turner's charges a $10 fee per firearm, per DOJ fee schedules. 4. I have never been confrontational or demanding while at the store. I do, however, complain and/or bring items to the attention of the appropriate person when I see things are being done incorrectly. Since I am a paying customer, I think this is reasonable. Let me be clear. Your entire post is libelous, lies, untruths, and fictitious. I suggest you not continue down this road of libel and slander. It wouldn't be a particularly smart move on your part.

Oh, so I can be attacked, but I can't defend myself? Every single word that he wrote was untrue.
Although, it is amusing that you called me douchey and that my comment was unnecessary; you were perfectly willing to jump on the bandwagon of attacking me just a few posts ago. Look, I didn't do anything wrong. I am a paying customer of Turner's, and I didn't deserve to be treated poorly after spending money in their store. Apparently I didn't spend *enough* money on this one particular trip to be "good enough" for them, but, I'd hardly say that that gives Turner's the right to be nasty to me.

Look...straight up! Throughout this whole thread, I dont like your arrogance. Know one cares if you went to law school, spent a lot of money at turners or call your self Dr.David. Look at your sig. (bottom left corner) web guru behind sb249, you even put it out there that your LTC and didn't even try to completely delete the old abbreviation of CCW, instead you put a line through it. C'mon Dr.David. No name calling, no attacking, just calling you out. Bottom line is just take your business else where as you stated earlier in this thread, I'm pretty sure fowlers, the shootist would welcome you with open arms. And if your in riverside county, go check out warrior one off the 215. As far as many turners Iv shopped at, luckily Iv had not one bad experience in one "yet" even the ones that have been mentioned here on calguns.

I've only been to Turner's once, the store in Redondo. Did a PPT there. Middle of the day, busy, and they treated us very well. So well that after we did the transfer, I spent all the money I had received for the firearm sale on a new pistol, plus another $500 on ammo and assorted gear.
I believe it when I read that others have been treated poorly at Turner's, but my one and only experience there was all I could ask for. |

Doing a PPT is an ACCOMODATION !!!!
did a PPT at Turners in Fountain Valley two weeks ago. I had to wait an hour and a half to get it done. I recognized that in doing the PPT for me they were NOT MAKING ANY MONEY and I was taking counter staff away from helping customers who WANTED TO BUY GUNS which is the real business Turners is in and what keeps the doors open. The staff at the FV store was very professional and fast in completing my PPT and I appreciate it. Accommodations in any business/industry are usually made to good and profitable customers, not strangers or non customers. Giving anyone a hard time, and clearly the OP has an attitude about himself, over an accommodation transaction is in poor taste and the sign of someone who is ill bred. Judging by the OP's name, his educational background and his attitude, I think I have a good idea as to his "breeding" which makes this whole thing no surprise at all. Based on my read of the Op and his attitude, the guy is "such a noodnik"...LOL Last edited by Ronin2; 01-07-2013 at 8:33 AM.. |

no,it's the LAW
part of having an FFL in CA is they must do PPT's not they can do them on days they want or as fast or slow as they want. $10 for 10 minutes work, drives customers into there store where you can sell them things like GUNs, AMMO, etc..... |

And, yes, the absolute first and only time I've done a PPT was Dec 30, 2012. Anyways, like I said, I'm done in this thread. I'm getting attacked for demanding to be treated with respect by a business I was a paying customer at. So, yeah, if you guys are OK with doing business at a store that treats you poorly, keep doing business there. I wouldn't treat my clients like that, and I don't expect to be treated like that by others.

To put this into perspective, that would be akin to the DMV not issuing you your drivers license renewal unless you *also* buy a new car from the clerk's brother-in-law. Want to buy a car from a private seller? Then, I guess no drivers license for you!
