Really?... From what I read in the Sac CCW thread, all of cali was stuck with a laminated paper card until the CA DOJ approved the design.

Compared to the CA process Utah was a breeze, 6 weeks from class to card. My class instructor was certified for both CA and UT and rolled prints for $70.
My CA livescan took 4 months and then it was issued 2 weeks after results were in. I forgot to say I had to wait 4 months for my interview.

9/7/17 - sent in app.
9/20/17 - received app back in the mail. I missed the price increase and needed to send them a new check ($67 instead of the $47 I sent). 9/20/17 - re-sent the app and correct amount check. 10/16/17 - received permit. |

On a side note my permit had my address wrong (last number was a 4 and should have been a 1). I was surprised the post office got it to the right house since they regularly miss-deliver stuff that's properly addressed in our neighborhood. I email the Utah DPS about the mistake and got a reply in less than an hour saying they had corrected it and were sending me a new permit, the one I have is still good until the new one arrives and to just destroy the old one when I got the new one. Now that's some great "customer service" IMHO.
