Mine came in the mal last week, I did not order a jig though. Came in black, not raw, but they did arrive.

I hope that answers your question.

Guys,

Ares has had some interesting and unfortunate turns of events in their manufacturing partners that continue to result in delay and excuse.

Apparently a shipment showed up in the last day or so.

I will try to get down there soon an conclude our business with them.

The grip will be released ... One of these days.

I don't know what to say about it at this point, short of sayin that we've been there in person fairly frequently and though September was the date these frames were expected, it is now February an we are we're we are.

To remind, I'm not in possession of any monies, frames or jigs, and ill do what I can to get you all settled out asap.

Cheers!

Can we still swap jigs for frames?
If so I'll take another frame for the jig.

I have access to cnc machines too but it kind of defeats the purpose of a hand built project. Ill be running one really nice and clean and the other on the fly with what ever random tools I have around me at the time. Anyone can hit a start button but a diy project is about working with what you have and tools you've gained throughout your life imo.

Lol, what ever floats your boat. I have the machine and I'll write the code.. Check sizes and make sure everything is stacked properly, I'd say thats doing it your self. Sometimes you gotta work smarter not harder, sure I can hand file the rails but I think it would be more precise with a #305 woodruff key cutter.

Ah if you have your own cnc that's a different story. I write my own code and do my own soild works and mastercam but don't have my own cnc. A caveman build is something impressive in my eyes. What kind of mill do you have? I have acess to a 6axis but im still trying to teach myself it. Maybe you can help me out if I get stuck if you know how to program with one.

I bought a g0704 and DIY cnced it =) small mill I know but it will get the job done. I have access to a few haas's at work but were so busy most of the time I can't get any "me" time haha. That's the reason I bought the grizzly.

I'm also learning, I operate a lathe at work but it's all relative. Ive been using bob cad, it's pretty user friendly.

You build any ak's? That what I like to use rocks and Random tools on =)

I'll help if I can, I don't mind.

I've done a few ak builds in my time...hehe. I've done crude ar builds for ****s and giggles too. I did the older ar style lower with a powerdrill once just because I could. Yes I had a mill and could have used it. I've eyeballed firing control pockets on a mill with no measurements to anything. All my builds have always worked flawlessly. Except for the first ar lower I did when they first came out I wrecked a buffertube. I wanted to build a backyard rudius since precision cnc machines were not around when the 1911s were first created. Kind of a new meets old kind of project. I was planning to do a step by step and hopefully give confidence to the new builders here to not be scared to do a real build. The satisfaction you get from hard work on a project like this isnt the same as going to an ares build party and puting an 80 onto a already made and mounted fixture then hitting the start button to run someone elses program. This whole group buy kind of just turned me off from building. Its been irritating me that so many people go to ares build parties with 80% and post and brag to people that they "built" their rudius on their own where two almost three months later most of the people who take pride in the hard work of a build are wondering where the hell ours are.

So, then when I asked about doing local pickup and you replied:

OK. I'm approaching the end of my patience window.

Am I getting my stuff or what. I know it is a group buy and there are risks. But the communication continues to be pathetic and many still don't have product.

Throwing hands up and saying I'm doing what I can is not acceptable. I've resisted commenting in this manner on this thread, but at some point, one reaches the end of their patience rope and I'm there.

Maybe, if someone from Ares (and I know they are on this board) would come on here and give us some definitive information, things would get better. But, at this point all we are getting is excuses, excuses, excuses.

What they fail to realize, is that by burning us, they burn their repeat customers and when all this crap dies down, they will go out of business because they are so hated. I have placed 5 or 6 orders with TM and am a customer for life because of their service. I'll never buy from Ares again after this and I would guess I am not alone in that sentiment. Business owners know, the first time customers are nice, but the repeat customers keep you going.

I'm in gb 2 and also losing faith, recently I needed lowers, instead of taking a 20 minute drive I called an out of town supplier...-4500 for Ares right there. I know I'm not the only one all I can say is I'm sorry and that I hope this is not an indicator to our fate in gb 2. The life of me thinks Ares will come through, one can only hope...

I have already given up on recieving my order and would be fine with a refund. I'd go put it into sig kto gb. I'm pretty upset as well putting so much faith in this gb and constantly feel screwed over. Ontop of how much I spent on equipment for this build, two rudius and a jig, I was told my order was a few days delay with emphasises on the days and not weeks or months and go order all my parts for both builds. That was over a month ago. I have not even for a simple pm of if my order would have been swapped a frame for my jig or not. I'm pretty pissed and even giving the benefit of the doubt it Is out of everyone's hands it would look like production stopped because all of these revisions if the grip frame and jig multiple tine there is no more money. I feel like all our money was spent redesiging things and we are sot.

I just don't understand how glbtrottr kept saying he has them in hand, and kept wanting to setup meetings at Bella Terra. Then his only reason not to ship was labels, although a pen would have worked just fine on the box. How is it all of a sudden a production issue, when he already had them on hand.

Ship what you have and everyone can start fitting parts, milling rails, drilling holes, etc. When the updated grips/jigs are ready, ship them. No reason to hold onto everything when the only work by the end user needs to be done to the only part you said was good.

I have faith in these guys they will get you your product eventually. I have been waiting for parts kits from 4 different companies and have been waitng for 5 months so its slow across the board. I have met with Glbtroter and the guys from Ares in the past and they all seem like stand up guys. The whole industry is slammed so if you plan on building anything your going to neec a whole lot of patients. Blame the F****** Democrats
