Good news for me. The XDs I jailed has the pin in the grip safety

Yeah, that's right. It was a conjugal visit

I must say I'm at least slightly concerned there's another problem except they have all of my contact information and I would have thought I would be contacted if they were unable to service it for some reason..

ETA: no tracking email notification or any other comms from SA

ETA: spoke to soon..

just after posting this, I called SA CS and spoke to someone.. he called me back but wasn't able to find any details about it this late in the day but assured me he would call in the morning..

so now, I just get an email invoice and tracking number.. shipped out complete this morning at 8:30am!

1 WEEK!!!

CS and notes in my invoice both confirmed the aformentioned 'malfunction' I was concerned about is in fact normal operation.. unlike an XD, the trigger will not reset after firing until the slide is cycled.

They have had mine since November

When I hit the mag release, it resets the trigger just partially. Pardon my ignorance but is that normal on a pistol?

Glad to have mine back. Sent it in around Oct, just got it back. I sent it back in the original case and was returned in the original case + 1 extended magazine. No extra pistol case for me. But they put some good tool marks on it

I don't generally baby my guns, a little more care from SA would've been appreciated.

Mine was returned in perfect condition. No marks or scratches. The trigger seems pretty good as well. I don't remember how good it was to begin with but I don't notice any grittiness that some people are reporting.

Anyone experience an improved trigger with repeated dry firing or use?

Sent mine out on Jan 22 and i just checked and it says it has been sent back to me, so just over a month.....not bad. I wish Springfield would send a tracking number since it has to be signed for.

If anyone has been waiting to send theirs in, now is the time. I just sent mine in Monday and it was received on Wednesday, then fixed and returned on Thursday.

Nice information. I have Sig P290 which i have buy two months ago. But it is important that we should know about the safety rule of gun which we have. So, i am doing firearm safety course to get good knowledge about gun safety and also to improve my shooting.

What do folks on this thread think of the XDs? It is off roster, so it it worth the single shot hoops to get one in Cali?

YES! worth it. Took it out recently with my handloads and I figured out how to shoot the thing.

I actually use a lighter grip than normal and Im punching all rounds in a 4 inch target at 10 yards no problem. Im happy with this

I just got my tracking number from Springfield for the return of my XDS. I sent it to them on 6/12 and will be back in my safe on 6/20. Not bad at all considering there was a weekend in between and 4 days of shipping time.

Hey guys I see the turn around seems very fast now so I will be sending in my XDS 9mm for the recall. But have some questions before shipping..
1. I was told by FedEx months back they DO NOT ship firearms period in California (Note I tried to ship another firearm not this one)? I live in Long Beach, CA if I take it to a authorized FedEx location to be ship do I need to tell them there is a firearm inside? Or just drop it off with prepaid shipping and get a receipt? I do not want any trouble or break any California laws etc..
Thanks

No laws to be broken other than FedEx's own company policy.

I shipped mine with SA's prepaid call tag from the FedEx Palm location in Signal Hill and had no issues declaring a firearm inside..

I was very surprised on the turn around now very quick less then 2 weeks.. Plus I got an extra mag. And the trigger really does not seem any different then before.

You are good with that test fire date. Not sure if there is a pin on factory ones or only on recalled ones. But mine was recalled. The original grip safety was entirely smooth. The new one has a small hole with a roll pin through it up towards the top.

I just got mine through a PPT, is there any way to see if the gun had been sent in for the recall? I was going to take it to the range this evening, but now I'm second guessing taking it to shoot.

^^^ Look for a roll pin in the grip safety. If it has one, the recall work has been done.

Thanks! I'll check it out when I get to the range this evening. If it doesn't then I'll just shoot my .38.
