Default CZ "SP01" Compact

Just picked up one of these. Does anyone else have one? I hear they are pretty rare. Supposedly only 500 made. All steel, safety model. Listed as 75 compact. Just wondering if anyone has done any tuning or mods on one.

what's the difference between it and the p01? Steel frame and safety instead of decocker? I'm not familiar

Yes steel framed with ambi safety. Im a lefty, so this is perfect. The machining is also much better than any P01 or SP01 ive had. From what ive heard 500 were ordered in Europe for military/police use and not claimed so they were sent to the USA

Never heard of it. It has a rail for attachments and it's all steel instead of aluminum?

How did you come about it? I assume these are off roster? Or did you buy it as a "CZ75 Compact" on roster?

Wow, Nice pick up. How'd you get it. Slipped through as a compact and got on the roster? CGW should work for any mods you want.

Ya I had a P01 on dros and switched it to a shield. If I'm going to get a micro gun I want it either polymer or steel. Aluminum has been bad every time I shoot it. Scandium too. I would love to try the compact steel version.

Congrats on the rare find. Would like to compare the SP01 Compact to the 75 Compact and see if they shoot the same. I guess the only difference is the rail, full dust cover and the ambi-safety? Can anyone confirm?

Beavertail too.

Hi beanz, just wondering when you picked yours up. It's a little different. It has a righty safety abd a 75 "B" roll mark

I got it from CZC back in 2014. They called it the Custom Compact L if I recall it correctly. They may have added the ambi safety, I forgot the specs

It's nice and, uhh, compact. I bought it before CZC had their short reset trigger. The trigger feels like a Custom Shadow 2014. The sights are stock and needs an upgrade. Stuart now has much nicer sights than what we had back then. I still prefer the regular length slide or even a CTS slide TBH.

Thanks for the response beanz2. Ive jist been in a compact binge. I have a few nice full sized guns already. The new sights from czc are really nice, especially the gold/tritium ones. The short reset and reach reduction in addition to the tune should feel excellent.

Is this in any similarity with the 75b compact that looks exactly the same but in a .40sw? I was looking at something like that before I got my p01. It shows up on budsgunshop.com but it's been sold out. I wonder if they're jus older p01 variants.

the p01 has an aluminum frame though so it's not that. I would love a railed compact but they're almost impossible to find.

The machining and finishing on this gun is is so much nicer than other czs ive bought. The ambi safety is just what ive been looking for. It is a beast of a gun. The extended beavertail is a plus over my p01 and pcr

Is this not just a P-02? I know the "L" had special stuff done to the inards, but this SP-01 Compact looks lust like a P-02?

A p02 has the omega trigger system. This "sp01 compact" does not have the omega system. Also, the p02 has an aluminum frame.

It's too bad that the sp01 compact isn't on roster. I would love to get my hands on one too.

Ah, gotcha. I was wanting the Compact L for a long time, would love to find one that wasn't $1400 now. That's just silly. But the SP Compact sounds like a great buy, especially at that price. I'd have bought 2!
