got my Sig MK25 out of jail.
I finally got my Mk25 out of jail after 2 weeks of jail time, I bought it before leaving on vacation thinking the 10 days would go faster while I was in Paris.
So, its a Calif. version of the MK25 and the manual that came with it (NIB) does not mention the magazine disconnect nor is the mechanism for the mag disconnect in any of the drawings. I went to the Sig website and downloaded the manual there, and same thing. Anyone have info on the mag disconnect ? like drawings, how it works, etc ? why does the factory website not have any info on it ? I am going to take it apart and clean it before going to the range in about an hour, have 400 rounds to feed it to break it in, so I will likely figure out the difference between the manual and the gun while its apart being cleaned but just wondering if anyone has more info. |

Congrats on a great gun! There are several YouTube tutorials and results on Google regarding the mag disco removal. I browsed through several of them but I ended up purchasing a non-CA MK25 so I can't tell you how informative/accurate the videos are.
I also purchased some E2 grips for the gun. That was a great move. I am much more accurate with the E2 grips than I was with the stock grips. |

Congrats! and hope you enjoy the MK25 like as. There was a member here who made a video about what you're inquiring and hopefully him and others would post the link when they see your thread.
Try calling Sig and ask if they have supplementary page for those parts.

I kind of figured out how it works while I cleaned it, it seems overly complicated but I could not dismantle it as far as I would like. The takedown lever would not come out like it does on youtube videos so the loading block where all the mag disconnect junk is, would not come out. I did not try using a brass punch, I was just trying to clean it good enough to go the range. Now that I have gone to the range, I will dig deeper into it and give a real good cleaning.
Fired off 280 rounds, no issues at all, then I shot off 30 rounds (10 in each mag) of Sig home defense ammo, no issues. I plan to keep 30 rounds of the Sig ammo for HD work and shoot my reloads the rest of the time. Several people here have complained about the trigger with the mag disconnect, to be fair, I think its a better trigger than my 92FS so I am quite happy. I am not going to remove the mag disconnect, just want to know how it works and clean it and lube it. Now to get a light on it, maybe a laser and make it my HD weapon of choice and retire my 5 round 45LC SAA. |

got my Sig MK25 out of jail.
It's literally just a tiny piece of metal with a spring on a pin. When the mag is inserted, the piece rotates out of the way to allow the trigger to travel freely.
To remove the locking block, pull outwards on the takedown lever as you rotate it counter clockwise. It'll eventually pull out. The tricky part is getting the locking block back in. It takes a little patience and finesse if you haven't done if before. Last edited by EMR; 12-02-2016 at 3:00 PM.. |

Glad that you had a successful and fun day at the range.
Not trying to ruin your day but my wife and I have one of each. Hers is CA version like yours and just to let you know what happened to her MK25; the mag-disco broke at 4,000+ rounds and rendered it inoperable. The magazine got stuck and had to pull it out like a mad dog. So if you are going to use it as HD or one of your HD, something to think about.

yeah, I have read about them breaking and rendering the gun unusable, but I am going to use it as a HD weapon and I am paranoid about disconnecting it and using it in a HD situation and having the DA come after me for disconnecting a CA safety feature...then again a good shoot is a good shoot...so I am not sure what I am going to do.
For now, I just wanted to dismantle it and clean it, that takedown lever just won't come out on it own. I will put a few hundred more rounds through it and then try again. |

the real MK25 is unchanged, but I got a California version which is not the the normal MK25 that you have.
The CA version has chamber flag and mag disconnect. |

I'm a .40 guy so my P226s, P229s and P239s are in that caliber. But after shooting my wife's MK25, fell in love and got one but have to pay extra for the non-kali.

I didn't even really know what it was when I bought it, heck I didn't even know there was a CA roster. A couple of my friends bought berretta's and I got tired of using their guns at the range. I had a P226 Airsoft that I really liked so I drove to the LGS and bought the only P226 in 9mm they had, which happened to be the MK25.
