When I think of French C&R's, I think of the adage, "Only once dropped, never fired!"

I kid. Those are some great rifles. Excellent collection, thanks for sharing.

Unhappy

I guess trading my 44 for a can of 7.62 and a can of 762x54 to FedOrd wasn't one of my smarter trades?

Nicely done on the collection and the photos!

Very nice collection! Over the years I've owned at least 6 MAS 36s, a 44, 45, 49, and 49/56. I only have the 45 and 49/56 now.

My buddy bought 6 huge crates of 7.5 MAS ball ammo from Service Armament back in the early 70s. He had so much of it that we practically wore out two sporterized 36s blowing it off. I'd have to guess we went through 5-8k worth of ball in about 5 years and he still have several crates left when I moved away.

Ok, dangerous for me to ask, but what is the average price for a MAS44? I've found 2 and one is $1200 and the other is around $1700. I like the long rifle look, but might be out of my price range at the moment

Hey fellows! I just picked up a MAS-49, which I guess is a Syrian contract.

I will post some pictures soon!

Very nice - although a couple of them had been dropped a time or two!

(sorry - had to go there)
