You don't really own the firearm, you just paid for it. The paperwork is the process of changing the ownership.
Assuming your FFL agrees, you can sell the firearm, but the FFL has to make sure that it is not a straw sale, so selling it out of the area would be better. It could be assumed that anyone local is buying it for you and the FFL should not take a chance with that. Did you have it shipped in or did you buy it from the FFL doing the transfer? If you bought it from the FFL doing the transfer, the FFL might not want you to sell it and make money, but they could refund your money.

i bought it at the ffl where it still sits. i was just thinking of listing it on here or gunbroker, not someone i know. i dont want anyone to get in trouble. there should be no reason for me to get denied, i just could use some money now, ive been reading stories of people on 60,90 110+ day delays. im on 31 myself.
thanks for the answers guys i appreciate it. |

You would need to ask the FFL to see what they are willing to do. They might want to charge a re-stocking fee and refund you money, or perhaps just give your money back. They might be ok with your selling it on an auction or perhaps not.
