Default Belt for IDPA only

Hi Ya'll!
I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, and I searched the interwebs for exactly that -- and I read the 2017 IDPA rules -- but I'm still not getting a consistent answer.

What is the "best" or "most commonly used" belt for IDPA only? I understand that speed belts are not allowed, although some people seem to use the outer part of a competition belt through the loops only, but perhaps I can get a good answer nonetheless.

I wear Amish leather for CCW, have never shot a competition match, and just bought a G34 to use in IDPA SSP only. I need a belt, I need a OWB holster, I need magazine pouches, so I'd appreciate a straight forward answer from those who shoot IDPA.

Thank you!

Belts: Comp Tac, Blade Tech, Safariland, Liberty Gun Belts

Holsters: Comp Tac, Blade Tech, Safariland, Redhill Tactical

Mag Pouches: Comp Tac, Blade Tech, Safariland, Double Alpha(IDPA version)

Most people I've shot with run a mix of the Comp Tac, Bladetech, and Safariland.

There's a lot of smaller companies that are starting to make custom stuff.

I use a two piece competition belt for USPSA, ICORE, but for IDPA I use my leather belt from Beltman. With just a holster and 2 mag pouches it's great.

From the IDPA website;

"IDPA is defensive oriented shooting competition that features equipment and gear commonly found in stores that is suitable for everyday concealment or use."

Use a regular leather or web belt and utilize all the loops on your pants.

I switch off between a TacShield webbed riggers belt and a regular leather belt I wear with street clothes. I also use holsters I use when I CCW. Only part of my IDPA rig that is not part of my CCW rig is the two mag kydex carrier on my left hip.

Wilderness Tactical. Get it with the stiffner insert and 5 stitching. Great belt. I like the way it is adjustable.

But it is just a riggers belt right?

I use the Comp-Tac belt for CCW and I am sure it will work for IDPA.

Plus, it is nice enough that you can use it as a dress belt as well.

I use the Safariland ELS Outer Belt, and just run it through the belt loops. It's as stiff as a hula-hoop.

Agree. Particularly the 5-stitch model, since it provides increased stiffness, which in turn provides a more solid platform for the holster and mag pouches.

Holster and mag pouches...the kydex offerings from Blade-Tech is what I use (Classic OWB holster and Signature double mag pouch), but Comp-Tac is also makes top flight holsters and mag pouches.
