Default Burro Canyon shooting range?

Has anyone shot at the burro canyon range? I heard I can get a private range where I can shoot anyway I want with whatever I want?

If so can i bring like my rubber dummies, steel targets and do some drills?

Steel might be restricted since it can cause fires but the rest should be ok...

Propane grills only i believe...

I've shot steel at Burro, but then again it was in Feb.

Either way great facility with good staff. Have fun.

For the most part you can do what you want on a private range. No steel at burro for the time being as it is so crispy and dry.

I rented a private range around October of last year and I was told to steel targets.

Yeah, no steel allowed. $30 to hold a reservation, $120 total due on day of shoot.
Just make sure you clean up after yourself and you'll be fine. I've been shooting up there for years.

So $30 on top of $120?

No steel, no steel or metal target frames.

$120 total, $30 to hold it with a deposit. Credit card held for incidentals.

$10 for PVC target stand rental. You don't shoot it, you get $8 back.

Bring all your ammo to the check in to get checked.

The guys at check in are super friendly.

And in general, figure on a 6-8 month waiting list for a private range.

Availability is a little more "instant" at Raahagues, but no reservations, it's only for 2 hours, and they only have two ranges that are longer than 75 yards, those are 100.
No steel restrictions there, just no glass, electronics, or food.

Angeles. 600 yards, metal targets from 200 to 600. Spinners for 22 area, metal for pistol, pistols only area, running water, hotdog stand on weekends, reloading store, no mountain driving behind a slow vehicle. 50 cent sodas from vending machines...

What kind of targets do they use are Burro? Similar to Angeles with the PVC frame? Target holders are wood blocks with proper spaced holes or is it like WEGC with the steel slots set in the ground?

Private bays are run what ya brung.
I've not shot the public bench so can't say.

The majority of the year, no steel allowed on the range... ammo or targets... due to fire danger. Bring PVC stands.
