Not my fastest FAST, but I'm making an effort to start recording them.

Shot from AIWB concealment, reload from OWB.

First shots in about 15 years. Starting from top left and clock wise (more like flipiped 3): 7, 7, 7, 10, 25, and bottom left again at 10 yds. S&W 745 with range ammo.

The first 500 through the Tac Elite. 500 rounds in 1 hour. 2 guys were loading and feeding mags to me. The pistol felt like hot coals but never skipped a beat.

This is an older Commander from about 1974. It has a 1976 Bar-Sto barrel in it and obviously some work. Carried often, shot often.

At 10 yards, 16 rounds of Winchester 185 gr. jacketed flat point.

Again 10 yards, 12 rounds of Win. 230 gr. "Service" ball ammo.

At 16 yards, 15 rounds of Win. 185 gr. jacketed flat point.

Default Went to the range today!

Got a chance to shoot some real high end 1911s today
Wilson Combat Super Grade
Guncrafter Industries gun with no name.
Springfield Armory Professional

Tell you what. I couldn't miss with the GI.
All of them were a hoot to shoot! There is definitely something to custom 1911s
I also shot my HK Elite in .45 got some good groups

I haven't shot the expert. But my elite was neck and neck with those all 1911s
Maybe it's because they all had 5" barrels and mine was 6.2"
Either way it was quite an experience.

I think pure accuracy is more dependent on barrel quality and lock up / fit. like if you put them in a ransom rest. trigger then comes into play but you are now introducing human variables.

Most guns are more accurate than we are. I believe each gun has a preferred bullet weight, velocity .... to provide optimum accuracy out of a given firearm.
If you apply the basic grip, sight picture, trigger control, follow through.
Oh and breathing. You should be able to achieve great results with a quality pistol like the HK Expert.
In my opinion

The elite certainly held it's own, shoots great. I think Helio fell in love with the Guncrafter though

Yep that's true. I liked shooting it. Ran like a Cadillac. Wish we could've rapid fired a bit. I noticed to let a few off after they told us we had five minutes left.

I was out with an older gun today. This is a pre-M25 which left the factory in Nov. of 1956. 45 acp. This first batch was shot one handed duelist fashion. I haven't shot this piece too much one handed and it shows. This was at 10 yards. 24 rounds at this target of 230 gr. ball. Took me a few rounds to get the hang of it. This was Remington ball.

This other bit was at 20 yards from a Weaver. 230 gr. lrn ammo of which the first 8 rounds did not please me you see those taped over. I switched to jacketed ball and either the gun or I liked that better. 30 rounds total including the 8 taped over, so 10 off the black. The old piece can do bettter for sure, maybe I can.

This was a rapid fire drill from the low ready. Shot at 7 yards with Win. 124 gr. NATO ball. Mark 1 BHP from 1977 IIRC.

This was all "flash point" shooting, meaning I did not use the sights but indexed off the profile of the gun. Idea was to raise the gun up and index as fast as possible and get 1 to 4 or so accurate shots off then do it again.

55 rounds total. 15 of which were fired one handed. A good many of those made it into that 9 ring. 40 rounds made it into the 5 1/2" 10 zone. 14 went into the 9 zone and you can see the one in the 8. The point was to get them all in the 10.

So the smaller holes were made by my .22 with a laser, while the big holes were made with my PM7...

You'll always get good groups shooting at targets that are 1 foot away.
