Thumbs up +1 for turners in san marcos

I went to turners to pick up some gear to hunt coyotes with for tommorrow. I brought my niehbors kid with me because he likes guns and i think his parents just wanted him out of thier hair for a bit. They were the friendliest i have seen any gunstore with kids. They answered all of questions i mean all of them. They let him see a few guns with my approval and consent of course. I will definatly buy a gun from thier in the future plus some reloading accesories because they sell winchester primers now. Thier prices on sierra bullets is extreme though. I thought i would share a positive story about turners because i read some bad ones hear and thier. you all have a good weekend, i'm off for some yotes.

That is great! Turners sometimes gets a bad rap. I go to my local South Bay Turners all the time and have never had a problem!

I have a few Tuners by me and sometimes its a crapshoot (is that the word??). Some super friendly guys and some horrible ones. Sometimes they are unfriendly of just don't know stuff.

One guy kept answering everything wrong and when I got frustrated he admitted he normally works in the fishing area.....thats fine....just dont try to be a know it all. I prefer places where the people say they don't know and get someone who does.

I have been in the Turners in San Marcos too, and agree that it is a very friendly place with helpful folks. That was my personal experience. It's also nice that they're open on Sundays, when most gun stores are closed. I know someone who does a lot of business with them in the San Marcos store and he never has a bad thing to say about them.

Give praise where praise is due, I always say!

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

Jesse is cool guys.
I went in to Turners Redondo Beach and bought some cleaning products.
Guy asked who helped me, I said Jesse.
Looked on my receipt and sure enough there was a discount.
Internet discount or something.

Default Turners

(Thanks GlockComa)

I really try to take care of my own...no b/s...no drama....if I can't help you, I'll re-direct.... I don't get paid commission, so there's no secret agenda...I'd rather you walk out empty handed and happy, that with something that is over kill, I don't want a fellow brother feeling like he got something pushed on to him/her that is not needed....

By the way.... we got some more P225's... and P99's... HUGE sale starts on the 9th.....and lastly we got a TON of PMC Bronze Box .223

Jesse!

The San Marcos store is run pretty well. The early season/ Bass Pro Shops competition sale will surely help my money to part ways with my wallet tomorrow.

Jesse, are you sure? I had a friend that worked at Turners and he broke the secret code by telling me he got paid a commission. He also told me that some gun companies pay the sales people a commission to sell their guns. For instance, Springfield would pay him $40 to sell and XD. All the sales people at that time were pushing XD's over Glocks because they were getting paid to do so. I know that it is a secret with Turners but it is obvious you guys get a commission with every sale of a gun. Every time I have ever bought a gun from Turners (Redondo) the salesman pulls out a small notebook or a piece of paper to write down some numbers. I know that is to keep track of the guns he has sold and to keep his commissions in order. I don't care; I think you should get paid a commission. It is too bad that Turners wants you to keep it a secret.

Nope.... trust me.... we do not get paid commission, they used too though years ago (before I was hired).... as for sales people writting down stuff on a pad, many people keep track of what gun sale they did so if the paper work or DROS comes back wrong, they'll know who did what.... lastly on the XD thing, I know they had some kind of spiff going, but I don't do the spiff thing..... too much drama, I like to be able to look into someone's eyes and give them an honest opinion and/or information...people are not dumb...they can sense a b/s salesperson and I refuse to be that sterotype.... I think you can be honest and open, a good product will sell itself.....and as for pricing, my manager Don is really nice, he takes "care" of people...especially from Calguns...

As I said, I will NOT b/s anyone, or lyingly recommend something for a possible dinky $5 ....

My first 2 times in Turners in Orange I had ...ehhh...experiences...not good but not EXTREMELY AWFUL. Since then I've gotten to know a few of there Gun staff (the knowledgeable ones anyway). They've given me some deals on my HK Pistol and soem other items. All in all a GREAT bunch of guys.

The only issue I have is that sometimes their doing double duty and the Cashier is also doubling in the Fishing Department.....which sometimes becomes a 10 minute wait just to be rung out.
