Default CCW question

Hi folks, my dad is interested in submitting an CCW application in Ventura county now that they are accepting without good clause, but he lives in LA county. Does he have to live in Ventura County to apply there? If not and he is accepted for one is it legal for him to carry in LA county or anywhere else in CA besides Ventura County?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, if he lives in LA County, must apply in LA County; issuing agencies are restricted by Penal Code to issuing only to residents in that agency's jurisdiction.

Were he to somehow apply through a county of which he is not actually a resident and successfully receive his CCW, be aware that it will likely not be worth the paper upon which it is printed. We had some Bay Area guys try buying a parcel of land up here in Sutter to try that. It did not go well.

Am I the only one who wants to make sure the OP knows it isn't that they no longer need good cause, but that good cause is no longer up to them to decide what *is good enough* cause.

Self defense could not be any more of a good cause to me.

Agree. But more so should be the only cause!

I disagree. It SHOULD be good enough to say "because I damn well feel like it."

I know, I know. Baby steps....,
