I know! I hope my AR stops giving me any problems! It was sold to me for only $500, so I should have guessed it might have some problems. Now with the repair, it has cost $620, which is still OK, I guess. Especially the way we shoot, not for a long time, and then a big shooting trip where we keep shooting and shooting for a couple of days straight. I hope my gun can hold up

I did actually! And it went perfect . We only shot about 50 rounds thru it though. I'm just glad to have my AR back at home and working. I need to find a home protection bullet to use, since so many people have been flaming me for having an AR for personal protection, and how the bullets will fly thru walls and kill my neighbors

hey.. If you've got it...Etc.
All is meant in good fun 2cute. Please don't take it wrong. But you know how it goes...huh. From reading some of your previous posts I know you're pretty and smart. With a good sense of humor.
All kidding aside, I hope your AR is back in operation. 620 is still a really good deal in this Obama kingship. I have twice that into mine. I'm sure you will have hours of fun with it with new rings. You may want to keep a spare set of rings, firing pin, and extractor in your cleaning kit. These are the parts that break most often in an AR. Maintainance and replacement of worn parts is the norm for any machine. And a gun is just a machine. Keep it lubed and in the 10 ring!

OMG. I thought that was you. I didn't want to interupt. And you were right. Your mother is pretty. And I smoke. I just don't have anything better to do with my lips at the moment. That is my worst habbit. Next to working every day.
If you want a good HD weapon. Get a shotgun. Shot will hug a hallway or wall rather than penetrate at an angle like a bullet. Or, as I use, A 45acp. It will stop an assailant cold without exiting like a 357. There is fragmentation ammo for the 45 that will not penetrate drywall. But is deadly to an attacker. Do a search.
Either way, 22 or 45, You defend can yourself and your family. +1.

I think 2cute knows that we are just kiddin' around. Her screen name and previous posts say alot. If you can read between the lines. She's cute, smart, funny, likes guns, cares for her family, and is interested in law enforcement.
I think she can handle a few Inet jokes without having a kiniption and most likely takes most of them as a complement with a laugh. As they were intended. If she was offended, I'm sure she would tell us. Her character has been well defined in her previous posts. You GO girl!

If you ever need backup, Just let us know. Although most CG'ers would defend even a total stranger. I can picture a 20 or so members armed to the teeth defending you and your loved ones if needed. But, like I said, Most of us would do that for anyone. Yellow just isn't our color.

I admit, I do have to quit posting after my neighbors get me drunk...Maybe next week... or the week after... Arrrggg.

I like federal 69 gr sierra match king for SD. But if you dont want much penetration maybe something lighter might be good enough like 55gr. Just dont buy vmax ammo it's to fragile and wont penetrate enough.

V-Max won't penetrate? Ever shoot an watermelon with it? (a close resemblence to the human head) It explodes! With 1 shot it was split into 3 pieces. 3 more shots and there was not enough left to eat. We were getting hungry...We tried...This was witnessed by at least 10 other CG'ers at a Panoche shoot. My handloads with 55g V-Max with 26.5 GR. of Win 748 out of my 1/9 twist, 16" barrel AR. Chroned at an average of 2900 FPS.
But 2cutes' AR is a 22LR. For HD, the 22 is not really a good choice. You may have to hit the assailant 3 or more times to drop him (depending on the contact area) and the bullet can pass through the body and then through a wall, Or ricoche' off a bone and penetrate the floor or cieling. Just the sight of an AR may detour attack. The barrel looks the same as a 5.56 if you are staring down the muzzle. But I wouldn't bet my life on that.

It's meant for varmint hunting. I prefer something with a little more penetration.Yes any round will kill you, I wouldn't stand in front of any vmax round. But I just trust a hevier bullet more ( Maybe is because I am used to 45 acp). . Just my opinion.

If your looking for home defense .223 either the 90g corbon or extreme shock 100gr asp subsonic rounds should be perfect for you. Just don't expect to target shoot 300 yards with that heavy grain but up close - game over.

Your AR shoots a projectile just .001" bigger than a .22LR. It's a .22cal. Just not a .22LR

It sucks to hear that your AR broke while you were having fun. That is very easy to fix. Wish whoever is going to fix it would show you how to.

But anyways, sounds like you and your family had fun. Where is that located?

My AR was jamming and my uncle though it was my bolt, which probably had a lot of rounds thru it before I even bought it. There was also something loose. So he replaced the whole bolt for me. He testfired about 50 rounds before he brought it back to me, then I fired about 50 more, and there were no problems, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

What kind of jams exactly? Might it have been a weak extractor/ejector? If he's just going to throw the old one away I'll take it lol

Awe diginit, that's nice of you to say . And yes, I'm fine with everything...just having fun, right? But I'm just disappointed that with all the things you 'learned' about me, you didn't learn that I'm one girl with more than enough firepower to defend herself!

Hence the reason I don't show up to firearms owner's households without being invited.....unless it's to watch/go to Sharks hockey games.

GO SHAKRS!
