Default Randall Made knives-any collectors here?

Collectors...pls post some pics of your safe queens!!! I have a set of 6 inbound from a collector...all six have matching factory options...Will post pics when I get them.
I collected William Henry knives for 15 yrs. Lost interest when they moved into the men's jewelry bis and sold off my collection which numbered close to 200.

Got the knife bug this summer , bought 3 sweet autos. Have wanted a Randall for decades!!!!!

Not a collector, I have a Combat Companion that I use and I recently sold a model 14 attack that I used as well.

Default Randall Made knives-any collectors here?

I have had different model Randalls over the last 30 years.
2 Model 14s,2 Model 16 Special Fighters,2 Model 8s. Still have 1 model 8. The one I kick myself is selling my Small Sasquatch when money was tight. Its now worth at least $1,000.00. I sold it for $500.
Here is what it looked like. Beautiful blade. Not my knife but that's what it looked like.
The model 8 is over 30 years old.

Here's the Randall I purchased about 20 years ago for about $400 as my "forever" deer hunting knife. It's served me well and it's a beauty to look at and just feels so right in your hand.

About 15 years ago, I met up with a customer (who I now claim as a friend) who was into high end knives, swords etc. When i mentioned my Randall we hit it off. Later I found out he was into wood working and did some pretty hi end stuff out of his garage. After seeing my Randall sitting on the shelf in my office he offered to make me a nice presentation box and trade some printing for it. (I own a printing company)

It turned out amazing....here are all the pics. REALLY nice wood, hinges, magnets to secure it when it closes...and removable legs on the back so you can display it at an angle.

Very nice, my one and only is also a hunting knife and has been used. For me it was never about collecting it was all about having a good hunting and all round use knife. Good quality will outlast me and the next generation if taken care of.

I re-read my post and it sounds like I’m saying I have 30 model 2’s.My collection consists of more than just model 2’s. I’d like to post more pics, unfortunately the external drive I had them stored on decided to fry its self awhile ago, all data lost and I haven’t had a chance to take new pictures.

Turns out that I have a few more Randalls than I thought. I checked my list and there are a bunch of them! Most all purchased about 25-30 years ago.

Look for a Randall dealer. They get the knives much quicker. Gary Clinton, the late Tom Clinton's son, is a Randall dealer. As I recall. Good luck.

You don't have to wait 6 years or even 6 minutes. Several stores have new, from the factory Randalls. You're paying a bit more for the immediate delivery, but the prices are still reasonable for these knives. Try NORDIC KNIVES At this moment they have over 80 of them are available. They have just about every model made, and many special off-list models in stock. Most are brand new, some are used.

D33pt there are several #5s ‒ they have various blade lengths, different grip materials and guards.

Here's a screenshot.

I have two Randall Made knives.

The first on I got was gifted to me by a friend who was cleaning out his deceased father's house. It is but a shadow of its former self, having been used and heavily (and crudely) sharpened over decades of use. Apparently, after returning from the war my friend's father continued to use his father's Randall Made to skin out and butcher deer in upstate Wisconsin for the lumber camps. This took place in an area called "The Deerskin", and indeed "Deerskin Jack" is carved into the sheath. Great story, great history, but knife is in poor shape.

The second one was inspired by the first. After receiving the first knife, I did a bit of research and ended up on the Randall website. At the time it was a 5 year wait, but the buy-in was only a $50 deposit. It didn't take too long to convince myself to build a custom knife on paper, write the check, and send in the order. Over the intervening time I forgot about it, and then one day an invoice showed up asking for the balance of $380 - my custom knife was ready to ship!

So - now I have two.

I'm not a collector of Randall Made knives - the first one was happanstance and the second one was just a lark, as I wanted a nice knife for once in my life. Honestly, I could not tell what model numbers these two knives are without looking it up.

A couple of pictures taken a long time ago at the Randall shop.
Pete Hamilton Randall shop foreman...RIP Pete.
The Ivory handle knives would swell depending on the humidity. I was there picking up my Mod.8 bird&trout that had some work done.
Also in town for the Knife Makers Guild Shows 25 Anniversary. Fun week.

It's like time stopped in that shop, probably changed very little since you took those pictures, Blademan21. I visited the shop and museum last February, I met Michael in the shop and Jason in the museum, both were very nice and outgoing, Jason was wearing a Springfield Armory hat when I met him, he's a fan of their 1911 pistols and I their M1A rifles, we chatted about guns briefly in the museum. I ordered a Model 27 Trailblazer from them that day, I'm almost 1-year down on the wait time

There was a Brazilian movie starring Tcheky Karyo and Peter Coyote about a guy learning to knife fight from a master. It featured a Randall 14 knife, among others. That's where I heard of them.

I'm putting together my 2020 order with Gary Clinton right now, going to order another #26 Pathfinder but with a #25 stacked-type handle, also a #14 Attack and I'm considering two more, a #5-5 Camp & Trail and a #8 Trout & Bird, but still looking all the models over, I don't have a RMK Bowie yet...Gary says his lead time from RMK is 8 months now.

Anyone else notice the small price increase on January 1st?

Those are worth the short wait.
Years ago I had a Small Sasquatch that I let go for gun money. As usual wish I still had it. Lots of RMKs have gone to new homes over the years.
Garys Father Tom Clinton would have lots of tables at the old Great Western Gun Show at the LA fairgrounds in Pomona.
Even saw Tom one year at the Vegas Soldier of Fortune gathering when it was active. Also met Al Mar before his passing.

Here's how my order with Gary is coming together:

#26-4 Pathfinder with a #25 stag/leather stacked handle
* Stainless steel 4" blade
* Silver & Black spacers
* Nickel silver single hilt
* Duralumin butt cap
* Wrist throng hole

#14 ATTACK
* Stainless steel 7.5" blade
* Nickel silver double hilt
* Sawteeth
* Silver wrist throng spacer
* Black Model C sheath

Model 12-9 - Sportsman Bowie with 9" blade
* Walnut wood handle (Commando shape)
* Brass butt cap

Model 5-5 - Camp & Trail
* Stainless steel 5" blade
* Thumb notches
* Nickel silver single hilt
* Wrist throng hole

I'm locked on all of them except handle material for the #5-5, I don't have a #5 so maybe the standard stacked leather is how I should go but I'm not set on it, I'm also considering a maroon Mircarta handle with finger grooves and a compass.

Reminds me of a #3 with a 6 S/S blade I had. It had a stag with finger groove handle and a compass. Great looker. Sold it in Fresno to a avid deer hunter. He loved it and I miss it.
