Here's 2

top: Savage 12 ga. 69 RXL...."R" = riot, "XL" = extended tube magazine...18.25" open choke barrel, 7 + 1 capacity.

bottom: Stevens Model 620A 12 ga pump, 19" open choke barrel, 28"+ overall length, 6 capacity...(definite AOW candidate!)

Both for serious social purposes...

Just swapped out my stock and fore-end for an 870 Police walnut set. Loving it. Feels much better too; quality stuff.

The forend is a promag along with the promag vertical grip. It's plastic, but very solid. I had my eye on the surefire rail, but I've already spent too much. I thought this was reasonable replacement for the plastic OEM stock. It's cool that it works for both sizes- you just mount the adapter piece for the longer variety forends.

Is your bolt chrome? If so, did you polish it or buy a wingmaster bolt?

I believe the bolt is chrome and from a Wingmaster. I purchased the bolt, triggerplate, slide assembly and stock set separately from either Gunbroker or eBay. All said the parts were taken from an old Police model/Wingmaster.
Test fired it last weekend. Everything seems to work well together.

Haha, we have almost the exact same gun. I just love the 870P walnuts...I think it's absolutely classic for an 870.

I'd like to buy another 870 Express to make into a "tactical" look though; I liked the Speedfeed pistol grip stock I used to have.

Interesting. I had never heard of the flex-tab. I assume it's the squared "U" shaped cut out i see on the lifter. I just re-created that jam in the video and was able to clear it. Phew! that's something i would have definitely overlooked.
Back to reality...

Got my new Interstate Model 982 today. Took alot of grinding and filing on the fore end so the heat shield wouldnt rub. Cant use the 6 shell holder I got because the for end overlaps it by1 inch.

Modified the rem spacer to get it closer the the trigger area, closing in the ugly gap between the trigger and pistol grip. Really like the flat finish it has.

Just a standard Pelican 1700 case. Priced around $150-200 depending where you go.

Hey thanks,

Its a 1720 Pelican but with the "Closed Cell Polyethylene Bottom Foam/Padding", which wont absorb gun oils and cuts MUCH easier (and accurately) for custom work. It costs a bit more $, but IMHO is worth it if your going to customize.
