Default List of CA FFLs & their fee schedule

Many had been asking, so I think, maybe we can keep a list going, and we'll try to keep it updated.

Fees quoted is *on top of* (ie. not including) the standard $25 CA DROS fee. Fees quoted is for internet-, mail-order, etc... (ie. sending out signed FFL, receving firearm, DROS & keeping the firearm for you for 10 days)

Fees quoted is for 1st firearm and ($n) is for each additional firearm after the 1st.

Same thing I thought. I probably wouldn't ever do business there anyways though. ;p

Roger's Relics is 55 for the first long gun including DROS. (DROS is 25, transfer is 30). Each add'l long gun on the same order is 10 bucks. Have another order on the same DROS, it's 30 for the transfer and 10 for each add'l. For example - order two NDS3's and two FAL's from DSA you will pay - 25 for DROS, 30 for transfer of one NDS3 + 10 for second one, 30 for DSA + 10 for second one. But order a bunch from one FFL (like CWS, DD's, lanworld, etc) and you only pay the 30 and 10 for each add'l.

Gunbroker.com has a "Find an FFL dealer near you" feature:

http://gunbroker.com/User/DealerNetwork.asp

Enter your zip and it generates a list. Of course, you then have to start calling and find out which ones are still in business, how much higher their fees really are, that they won't accept OLLs/Saiga's/anything-that-I-want, etc., etc. but it's still useful for finding some garage FFLs.

GRUNDMAN sports in Rio Dell, california WILL NOT transfer black guns. . . Bunch of sopping wet ****s they are over there. Just FYI.

Anyone who could point me to an FFL in Eureka or close by, who charges no more than $50 I would be eternally grateful.

Handguns are 65 for the first, 10 for each add'l.

BTW they are by APPT ONLY, you MUST call first.

All the FFLs that are listed here, one or many of us, at least, had good experience with before.

Just call them and find out whatever you needed to know.

Imbert & Smithers, (650) 593-4207, San Carlos 94070, $50 + DROS. No OLLs. Might complain if you want to do a transfer for something they're selling, especially if they have it in stock.
In general very nice to deal with though.

Gusslers {in Santee} is my only transfer dealer. Don is fair with his fees and knowledable with information. He is an FFL Dealer that you would want to have come to your home for a Bar-B- Q.
He is a fine gent .

Default TYPE OF FEE...

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. So, if I buy a gun from Gunbroker.com and have it shipped to a local FFL dealer - what type of fee would my dealer charge me? I know the basic DROS is $25. But I guess, there are other fees too he would charge. A dealer here in Castro Valley told me he would charge me $120 if I bought the gun from another dealer/ or Gunbroker. That seems way too high...

Thanks in advance...

This is only a question, only out of my concern for FFL's that don't want to be hassled and illegally abused by "certain entities," so flaming would be pointless. If you have an insightful, intelligent thought/answer/"enlightening statement," by all means go for it.
Question: Is it prudent to be posting lists of FFL's who deal in OLL's on these boards, knowing who monitors this venue?

My favorite FFL:

The Sportsman in downtown Sonora, right on Main St. (aka South Washington st. aka Hwy 49).

Transfers for DROS + $25 for the first three guns; an extra DROS every three after that (sadly she takes the three slots on the form literally).

The best part is you can have a beer while filing out the paperwork

The Sportsman
90 S. Washington, Sonora,Ca 95370

(209)532-1716

Yep thats where I go. She is really nice too. Haven't had a beer there though cause i don't drink beer, I choose vodka. Although I though it was $20 for her fee? I though I paid her $45 total both times I had transfers (3 on 1 form, and 1 gun another time).

METCO Firearms #2/707.864.2666/Fairfield/$50/Staffed M-F 1100-1700, Limited stock (building), mostly special orders, Kimber at "Dealer Price" (MAP), FN Distributor, Sig, Aimpoint, Benchmade dealer; Sorry NO OLLs due to CA DOJ BOF threats on our MG/AW permitting.

The shop is located in southern Fairfield, practically Cordelia, right at the intersection of hwy80 x hwy680. We're mostly through our construction, opening up the sales floor for more merchandise. Call ahead to verify that the store is staffed (you'll probably be helped by Paul during 1100-1700hrs), since we routinely have to do demonstrations for PDs and they may require Paul to assist.

If you need assistance on the nights or weekends, I'm the best point of contact.

Feel free to remove that... I am no longer associated with that store, and they have not received a license, and may not until (if ever) ownership changes hands.

First off I wanted to say VERY nice thread, Jicko. Definitely a service to others.

In $25($20) the $20 refers to the price of ADDITIONAL rifles.

If it's $50 total, that is the same as he has listed -- i.e., $25 for transfer fee + $25 DROS. See below. It's like this

$1st Rifle ($additional rifle)

Is this his regular "FTF PPT" schedule only? Or is he actually charging ONLY $10 if you have a piece of firearm sent to him for DROS? This is the CHEAPEST i have seen!!!!

No, I transfer new Internet or private party guns when I buy out of state from Jay's or Bud's. Jon is a genuinely nice guy who says, "I just want to sell guns." He is 90 minutes from my house, but I usually save up, buy 2 or 3 at once, and stop to hunt a few places either coming or going. I probably don't save too much with the price of gas over $3, but if you're paying $40 per like some folks, and Jon charges $10, do the math.

At one time I used Palmdale Pawn at $20 per + Dros - but last year they upped it to $40 + Dros.

Jon will put 4 long guns on a single form for $65. so if you time your purchases like I do, I save a lot and enjoy the trip. You'll find him listed at either GunBroker or GA, I forget which.

I went in to the Stockade, and they wanted $150 receiver fee + $25 + Dros so I believe I've managed to find both the best and worst price in Condorfornia.
