At the begining of the thread... http://www.beadaptive.com/. Don't think what model or set up was ordered but that's the company.

I think we should keep searching for the Glock 19 cause it's a fantastic gun and it sounds like something Kevin would be really happy with. Even though everything is OOS these days, Glocks are still very popular and common and I'm sure one will pop up soon. Can someone just remind me, was there a strict deadline we need to find a gun by?

Ok, that's what I thought.
Looks like he needs the HQ100 mount.
It costs $1,650 and comes standard with the TM100 power trigger.

The two links on the first page are accessories and not the mounting hardware.
The HQPM is a pistol mount only and fits to the HQ100 mount.

Have we properly budgeted for the equipment Kevin needs?
Doesn't look like we've raised enough to pay for the mount yet, not to mention any accessories he might need.
We should make sure the proper mounting hardware has been ordered before getting too focused on guns and ammo.

I'm going to have to call disarmed marksman and see if he's up to coming to whatever shoot gets set up. I'm sure he has more insight and experience shooting from a wheelchair than most of us do.

I just donated, looks like it's around $1350 right now.

Good luck Kev, hope to see you if there is a meet and greet shooting event. I'm not far from Ventura.

Cactus _ The eqipment I need is the LM100 (the basic mount for rifle and shotgun) the LMPM pistol mount and we got the HD100 for my hand to pull the trigger. I dont need the electric actuator to pull the trigger. I have pretty good left arm use except for my hand. I don"t forsee needing that other hardware but was assured that we could mount it later if I decided I needed it.

We had a generous Calgunner purchased what I needed (Baboosh) equipment was shipped and should be here by the end of the week.

So yes the hunt is on for a new pistol for my equipment. I am so excited! The G19 is my first choice. I found some new in box on gunbroker.com but I'm not sure how to procede after we bid. need FFL? ship to gunshop? I just don't know.

That's great news, Kevin!
I was just concerned we might be overlooking something.
Glad to hear everything is on track.
Looking forward to some pics soon.

^^ These are my feelings as well and I've communicated that to kevrok. If he wants a G19, that's what we should be after. No reason to settle for less after coming this far.

Cactus, read the whole thread or at least the first page. eta: I see kevrok responded to this.

Yeah, I was reading this too. There's no SKU on the roster so I'm not sure how to determine what is and what isn't.

kevrok, so you are getting the pieces needed to shoot handgun, right?

Off the top of the head:
First step if we're purchasing out of state is to make sure it's approved for sale and on the ROSTER.
Second would be making sure the seller is OK w/ sending to CA.
Third, get approval from our local FFL who will handle the transfer w/ you.
Then we'd order.
After rcving at the local FFL, you'd need HSC and DROS and wait 10 days. Need two forms of ID and at pickup perform Safe Handling Demonstration (ooh there's something to think about, how is this requirement met for disabled?).
I may be missing a couple pieces but that's the gist of it.

I need some feed back. I am realizing that the G19 may be difficult to find. I am considering the G22 or G23 which are .40 cal. What do you all think? A Glock is a Glock and seems like the recoil won't be that bad. But, I don't know. The plus is that IVE has it in stock right now! Could be bought in next 2 days. What do you all think?

I had this question as well. It looks like there is an exemption for physically disabled individuals:

"The HSC program also provides for an exemption when physical disability deprives an individual the necessary agility to execute the demonstration. A signed, written letter from a licensed physician attesting that a physical disability precludes an individual from being able to perform the safe handling demonstration is required for this exemption. This exemption applies to the safe handling demonstration only. There is no exemption from the Handgun Safety Certificate requirement based on physical disability"

http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/hscfaqs#a21

So Kevin, you will also need a written letter from a physician.

I am also concerned about the funky trigger on the Glock and can we make it more sensitive after bought?

I have both the Glock 23 and 27, and like them both. As for the trigger, well, it's a Glock trigger. Not terrible, but some have a difficult time transitioning to it. Plenty of options for tuning Glock triggers.

Rob at Blueline has offered to take care of the trigger for you. He has also offered to donate cleaning supplies and ammo. If you get one from out of State you can do the transfer thru him. Not sure what he will do for you as far as the transfer, but I'm sure he'll take care of you.

Quick update.

Fundraiser: as of 2200 on Tues. 02-26 we're at $1350 smackaroonis

Pistol: kevrok805's moving in a new direction (I think he's got an itch to scratch) and is going for .40 cal Glock 22 or 23 instead of the G19 we were after at first.

We appear to be stalled just $150 short of the goal. Come on team help push this over the finish line!

Note: This is a copy/paste from the thread in the regional section. Since this is an important goal we are chasing I want to get more exposure by the double post.

Super stoked my friends! Hit up IVE today with Ready_eSeVe and snatched up that Glock 22! She's a beauty! Still overwhelmed by the people here. Gotta wait my 10 days and still meet up with Baboosh when the equipment comes in and then we will set up a shoot 'n' Que very soon. Keep you all posted! One Love!

Crossposted from the donation thread:

Quote:
So we're exactly at 95% of the goal I'd originally set.
I feel comfortable saying that at this point "we're good", meaning if we don't raise anything else we'll be able to do all the things we set out to. A couple of items on the original wishlist have been graciously donated and therefore lowered the "out of pocket" costs I originally projected into the $1500 total.
I don't want to discourage anybody who still wants to contribute (There were people contacting me telling me they could donate at a later time).
I'm thinking to leave the fundraiser open through Friday for those just tuning in or those who had to wait till payday.

With that said, basically, WE DID IT CALGUNNERS!

I'll keep post #3 updated w/ an accounting of how much was collected and how funds were used. Anybody who donated and wants any detailed info, please feel free to pm me.

I'm not sure that I'm taking the lead on the shoot but I'll keep everyone posted about the meet n' greet as details become available.
From my convo's w/ kevrok805, I get the feeling the meet n' greet is crucially important to him. He's really grateful and appreciative and would love to say thanks in person.

Also, I just have to say that this whole effort has been great. I find myself laughing and smiling when I think of it. It was like a living breathing thing and it came together so nicely and in mind that's a reflection of the spirits of all involved.

Can you guys bring me quickly up to speed on .40S&W?
What's a standard load, 165 or 180 grain?
What kinda prices/availability am I looking for?
Looking to get $200-250 worth of ammo for the OP.
If somebody wants to sell some at a fair price, pm me please.

Also, to the inquiries of caliber for donation etc, it's official:
Kevrok805 can use .40S&W and 20 gauge shotshells.

155, 165 , and 180gr are all fairly common. I load my own, so I can't really comment on current prices or availability. Seem to remember seeing it for around $15/bx pre-panic, but not 100% on that.

I just got 500 rounds of 180 gr FMJ .40 from a place called TargetSports USA. Paid about $20 per 50 rounds including shipping. If I recall, it was backordered for about two weeks before it shipped though.

I was skimming the WTS Ammo ads and sent an offer to Ronin4555.
He's generously offered to ship kevrok the .40 ammo from his ad here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...php?p=10674176 for basically the cost of shipping. Check out his ad and buy the rest of his ammo! Thanks Ronin!!!

Also got great offer from alfred1222 but we're going to hold off because it's Wolf brand steel jacketed stuff (hard to find places to shoot with that around here). Thanks for the offer though alfred1222!

eta: Oh and somebody may have made an accidental duplicate donation on gofundme. If that was you and it was a mistake, please contact me by pm or through gofundme contact link. Resolved.

Ok my friends I couldn't help myself. Went into IVE today with my buddy to take the G22 on a little dance. Although I couldn't shoot it myself it had some smooth action. My friend was jealous as he had just bought and brought his SW M & P .40 to shoot. I can't hardly wait to set up the equipment and fire it myself. What was even more cool is that everyone at IVE seems to know whats going on and they can't wait to see it all in action too. This whole thing has been AWESOME and I can't wait to meet you all. More info coming about a Shoot n' Que. God bless & Thank you all!

Got my laser attachment today & 300 rounds of ammo yesterday! I am jumping out of my chair! So excited! Here is an update - I called BE Adaptive today and apparently my equipment was just shipped today (bummer). But anything good is worth waiting for. Right?

Shoot n' Que will be scheduled soon! I might be more excited to meet and hang out with all of you! Really a dream come true. Calguns has been so amazing and I hope to be at the next meeting at IVE. One Love Ya'll...
