Default My new mossberg 500 security

I replaced the stock. Simple and good for home defense. I can't wait to receive the 25 shell holder sling

Why pistol grip? Pistol grip and mossy 500 don't go together well.

Leave the heat shield off. Really ruins the gun.

I am picking up my MB 500 Plane Jane (50577) on Monday (10 day wait) from Big 5 (great price at $309) and am planning on adding a few things, including the heat shield. I'm curious about why you think adding the heat shield ruins the gun.

I have a maverick 88. I keep it looking at pedestrian as I can in case I ever get hauled in to court for using it.

Not sure why Tekkno says this but adding a pistol grip does create a new challenge to be aware of. The slide release on the M500 is on the left side above the pistol grip. It's a tough reach and unless you have 6 inch long thumbs requires you break your grip and reach around to release it. This would normally be an index finger release on a standard stock. Not a show stopper but practice to reduce the risk.

If you get to the point of considering adding a light I'd recommend this.

Good luck.

Iv'e used a pistol grip a lot. Its fine with practice but i recommend using only the Hogue tamer grip and nothing
larger than a #6 low brass

100% wrong.
HD. It's a scatter gun.
If you are using for HD. You don't need a stock.

Hogue tamer pistol grip
Light.
Side saddle. That's it.

Your bandolier is not necessary as no one has ever shot-reloaded-shot 25 +9 shells ever in the history of Earth.
