Default Which counties allow many or unlimited guns on the permit?

As the title says, which counties as of May 2019 allow lots and lots of handguns on their carry permit? (Or whatever it is called for the nit pickers)

El Dorado County

Others?

The law of nature requires (if wanting more) that they will always be the counties that one does not live in.

Orange is unlimited. Only 5 listed on the laminated permit, additional listed on another (paper?) sheet. I haven't personally seen one of the additional sheets so I don't know what they look like.

Kern County allows a lot. We had a guy qualifying eight guns on his permit the other week.

If the applicant has two Glock 19’s, for example, do they have to qualify with both?

Yes.

Every handgun the applicant wants listed and they need to be individually listed (make, model, caliber, serial number) on the permit.

Riverside is 6. I’m all for multiple guns... but how many do you honestly want to rotate through.

Sutter Co.

Unlimited but if I remember my conversation with the gal who did my last renewal there is room for 24 on the permit.

Very interesting to note the differences in counties that "allow" more than 3 handguns on the king's permission slips.

On the other hand, I think you should be "unlimited' as a state wide SOP, but at what point is it really practical to use too many different types. Training wise? Muscle memory? It seems to be more of a fashion statement and not a tactical decision on what is needed IMO.

Maybe this could be a stepping stone to permit the user only, use whatever he/she owns without having to document each and every thing you list on a permit? California dreaming...

You need one for hot weather, one for cold weather, one for formalwear, one for travelling, one hunting sidearm, one for the truck, etc

If for nothing else.... I'd like to see more than 3 (for San Bernardino) so that hubby and I can have each others guns on our permits. That way if for some reason we need to hold the other person's gun... we are doing it legally.

I have multiples of the same gun. I have no desire to play the serial number game.

As for a “rotation”—that is incorrect. Different guns fill different needs. I can hide my Glock 43 in a Speedo, but, unfortunately, not a Glock 21.

I mean I’m all for multiple guns on their permit. I only carry 2, but have 6 on the permit so I’m not bound by “unloaded and locked container” when transporting them.

You should always have at least two guns on your permit.

If you have to use one and the police take it for evidence, you have another that you can carry.

Yep, also depending on seasons and what you wear, it may be necessary to have multiple.
