Default Reloading forums?

While Calguns is great I was wondering if there were any reloading only forums out there? quick access to recipes and data, etc... Thanks!

If you cast, you absolutely have to join castboolits.gunloads.com.
I hesitate to trust anyone's load recipes.

Long Range Hunting has a pretty good one.

https://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/reloading.28/

Regarding trusting someone else's recipes, Unless I know them really really well, I never use them. Seen too many accidents and damaged guns to rely on someone else's loads.

Not forums, but, powder and some bullet makers have load data. Hornady, Speer, Nosler, Ramshot, Alliant, Hodgdon are some.

Very true. But it depends on what you’re seeking. If you’re looking for a max 357 or 44 load or something, yeah, I’d be a little cautious. However, you can learn a lot about more popular powders and such are for a particular round.

When I started loading for 308, I had been loading ‘06 for many years and had lots of imr4895 on hand. I looked for and found lots of info and it seemed that 41.5 gr with a 168 was a standard match loading. Since it wasn’t near max, it gave me a great starting point. Turns out it shot really well for me and I just kept it.

It’s really a mixed bag. If you google 45 and bullseye, you’ll probably get 1000’s of results all saying pretty much the same thing. You could probably use that data. Would I trust someone’s data that said they got a 185 gr to go 1200fps with H110? Um, no.

You must have misspelled that website because that url takes you to some site parking service that I closed out of before it finished loading.

Please fix or remove the bad link.

I agree - would add hodgdon .
Astor recipes I start add minimun and very slowly go up . You are the only one who knows your gun .
Tight barrel - lots of copper / lead build up .
Loose barrel - lots of black out / black smoky stuff .
A guys load in Arizona is going to be different than one in Alaska or New York . How old is the recipes
powder - does not matter much if you are punching paper but almost anything else - it matters .
You get into reloading and you will change from a pound of powder to 8 lbs , but only if you can use it
up quick .
I / we buy by the pound and always check a few test loads on a new bottle . A pound will last from 1
to 3 months for us .

Well ok, but that's not the link he put in his post so we're comparing Apples to Oranges.

Close enough only works in horse shoes.

And yes, I'm being a jerk about this because working in IT, you wouldn't believe the amount of times someone walks over with an "internet" problem but the problem was really between the chair and the keyboard.

"PEBKAC", AKA layer 8 error.

At my work I see more Layer 10 issues...

Nah, you are correct and I fixed it. Thanks for catching it.
That happens occasionally when you aren't on your usual access point with it's bookmarks and autofill. I don't know the last time that I typed in the full URL for it.

when you guys want to graduate out of the preschool of reloading that calguns is you can head over to accurate reloading board. Not quite as many people just starting out with 9mm and .223 over there.

Meh. If you want precision reloading, go to 6mm br.com. I believe it to be better than accurate reloading. My opinion only.

It's not full if benchrest know it all wannabes its run by Paul who hasn't got a clue one and he changes posts to what he thinks they should be.
In reloading that is worse than dangerous so all the best posters left years ago.

Uh, didn't know that. Thanks for the update. I hadn't been on that site since I sold my .308 and 22-250 some time ago. Pretty much into lever rifles presently.
