It would be nice to have the mods ANSWER EMAILS FROM THE MEMBERS as to why the negative iTrading ratings parameters changed. I feel that the non answer to 5 requests as to why they allow a negative when a potential deal was still talked about is a Soviet Style bureaucracy.
So last month, the post of the day was when negative feedback was earned. Had something to do with money changing hand on false pretenses. Apparently, the negative card can now be played on a perceived false start.

The mods do not answer as to what or why - preferring ignorance is a way of life now?

Geez, lets get this out in the open, and move on

Open up subdivisions of the Private Firearm Sales to the three main subdivisions of California (SF, LA, SD, etc) to allow people to find sales much easier within the section.

Ex:
Private Firearm Sales - Long Guns
- (NorCal)
- (SoCal)
- (Everything in between)

Has something changed with the mobile site since the new year? I cant see the blue full version anymore like I am accustomed. It's stuck on the green version of the mobile site.

C36:

Did you go to the bottom and click "normal version" twice?

That is what I have to do sometimes.

That used to be the case, though now it keeps reloading into the green version no matter how many times I click 'normal version'. I can barely read this, it's much better in the standard blue.

Is there a fix for this?

Several other sites I visit automatically resize pictures to a reasonable size. Can Calguns look into that so we don't have to deal with posters' mega-sized images?

Same issue here, clicking Normal version does nothing.
I end up having to click "show desktop version" on my chrome browser.

There's a difference between 'dropped' and 'sagging'...

I think calguns is pretty good based on my experiences to date -- I do think it would be beneficial to the California shooting community if out-of-state trainers could post upcoming California courses without be required to be a paying sponsor (I may have it wrong, but my understanding is they have to be a sponsor first).

My logic: More training in California is good for all of us. Most trainers that don't have their own range in or near a major metro area (which includes most of the traveling trainers, even the big name ones) are just squeaking by and unlikely to pony up to advertise in a state they visit for 1-2 courses a year. I see the same guys over and over when I go to those classes, and I think more visibility would bring in fresh students, which means more Californians getting more training experiences.

The solution: Either a separate VISITING TRAINERS section, or just allow them to post in the regular Upcoming Training thread. The rule could be something like "For visiting trainers based out-of-state. You may advertise up to three course a year here at no cost to you".

I'm unable to leave feedback on a purchase even though I'm using the right URL. An error message says the URL is invalid. When I try and contact someone for help, I get an error stating I don't have permission. I've left feedback other times, but I'm unable to do so now. This the only thread I can use to contact you. Please help me leave feedback. Thank you.

Default A SUGGESTION

I think it would be appropriate to add

A PIGEON POOP'N

Emoticon, to be used for all the Leftist Crap and Fly posters.

Just a thought.

Try taking the "s" out of the "https" in the URL.

How about keeping the post count number in a person's profile page instead of next to thier user name?

The one thing that bugs me on all foums is rank based on post count.

For whatever reason a person with a 10K post count is considered reapectable and knowledgeable, even though if you look at their past posts most of it is drivel, posted just to up a post count.

If we need some user based social order, what about a "liked posts" feature instead?

I also agree with this idea.
It would make it a lot easier to search for items near us.

I've definitely run into that a few times in the past. I suspect it may be keeping itrader ratings down. Please fix this CG gods.

So far at least, the fix would end up removing all prior I-Trader ratings so the God Mods. have been holding off.

Can't the system just automatically remove the "s" for everyone and continue to keep things consistent without the need for manual overrides?

Another bump for this. Or at the very least it needs to be a mandatory checkbox that puts a tag in the title. eg: "WTS: AR15 - NorCal"

It's such a pain trying to figure out what's near me. "San Jose", "San José", "Bay Area", "SF Bay", "SF", "SFBY", "SFBay", "Oakland", "Richmond", "East Bay", "North Bay", "San Francisco", "Santa Clara", "Santa Clara County", "SCC", and the 200 zip codes that make up the Bay area all encompass a selling region that's a thirty to forty minute drive from me. That doesn't include misspellings, people not saying their location, or the fact that there's a Bay Area in SoCal.

PS: Has anything ever been added from this thread?

It would be great if we could delete our threads. Questions etc. Unless there's a transaction where the thread is needed for feedback reasons.

Seen this on another Forum.

Had a 'Thread Starter' box below the Avatar on each post in the thread of the creator/original poster. It helps to keep track of the conversation.

Have not heard this one before.

Clear your browser and close extra apps maybe.

Good luck.

That's usually a cookie handling/browser security issue. Along with the other suggestions, open your browser preferences and check your security settings and cookie handling. You may need to make CalGuns an 'exception' in some cases. Your login cookie is being expired by the browser or being handled in a way you don't desire.

We run a similar version of vBulletin, just a bit newer, and the vast majority of login problems for members are cookie problems, with a minority of browser security certificate handling problems thrown in, as we're on https similar to CalGuns.
