Question on carrying concealed on "private property" without a LTC
Hello fellow Calgunners,
I have a few questions on carrying on private property. I realize this can't be construed as legal advice but looking for general opinion. I know I can legally carry concealed on my own private property, i.e. my personal home or even on the grounds of my ranch in Montana (if I owned one...) How about: 1) My own business, such as if I owned a grocery store or pharmacy? 2) My place of work, with the owner's permission (not me) and no policy against it in place at work? 3) if 2) is permissible, how does one define an owner for a public company? Is it the CEO? the shareholders? once again this is without an LTC. thanks in advance for your opinions. SE

I. No license needed.
II. No license needed III. How does your company define it's owners or leaders? If it's shareholders then the executive board would have already had a corporate policy. I am sure they have one for weapons.

FAQ.
See the wiki -- https://web.archive.org/web/20151028...oncealed_Carry Short answer: if the property is 'publicly accessible' (e.g a parking lot, see Overturf), illegal without CCW. More nuance at the wiki.

Conceal Carry on private property is proabably a gray area at best.
From my own CCW interview with the OC Sheriff... Open carry on private property(with permission) is what you can do all day long. |
